Guest Guest_WhiZa_* Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 When I enter a game I cannot hear myself shoot, but I can hear others shoot so I know the sound files are good. The only way I know how to fix it is if I turn off 3D sounds effects. Does anyone know why this happens? I'm using .039 Pre1
Bargeld Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 3d sound is buggy, I've only heard (and experienced) bad things. Turn off 3d sound!
Samapico Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 3d sounds works perfectly for me But I think 3D sounds is a feature of my sound card...
»Maverick Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 I believe its more DirectSound features, but your sound card might have extra support for that... who knows what they come up with every day
MonteZuma Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 This might sound dumb, but check that your speakers are plugged into the back of the PC snugly.

MonteZuma Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Yeah....but if the audio jack isn't snug, you might not hear both channels all the time. 3d sound manipulation can exaggerate the problem. You can demonstrate this on an old stereo system by selecting "stereo wide" and turning one speaker off. The missing sounds are much more noticable with "stereo wide" than with ordinary stereo. The counter intuitive bit is that you would expect this to affect other ships more than your own, but...it worked for me. So I guess what I'm saying is: check that your speakers are plugged in properly.
