I have heard that there are soem settings that could cause instability in the server or a crash. Since I am thinking about making a zone for fun, can anyone enlighten me so that I dont screw myself up?

Since most are undo!@#$%^&*ented I recommend using the Settings editor for subgame 1.34.14 made by xor eax.

However, the http://wiki.minegoboom.com gives alot of information too that can help you.

Most .cfg variables that can crash the server are already in the template.sss which kinda restricts you to crash it. For the rest, try-and-see blum.gif (use common sense)

Check out your zone population statistics at stats.sshq.net!

Basically, zero values can crash it in some places. Otherwise, it should be pretty stable. For example, if all prizeweights are zero, picking up a green will cause a crash (I'm not sure whether client or server though). And if bouncefactor is 0, that'll also be bad. Such things.

Oh Oh Oh! Never touch the "Territory" settings. They default to some reward, I think but it's never given as far as I can tell and zeroing it out makes people unable to see what others are typing in the zone.
