I come to you from Deathstarbattle, my spiritual home of several years. I have wild imagination of things to improve the game. Most people say I don't know the limitions of the game and what can be achieved. Suggestion after suggestion is knocked back for being impossible!! I bring my ideas to a higher level, a greater deity of the online gaming community... to the developers. I hope I'm at teh right place. This is my first ever visit here Please read my many ideas and opinionate your thoughts. I will list my ideas one by one. I present these ideas and some pictures as a free-spirited independent minded mouse. It would be my life's dream to see just one of these ideas come to life!! O2L IDEAS LIST 1) Faulty Ships Like a Supermarket Trolley (cart)You know if you go into a supermarket then every so often you get a trolley with a wonky wheel. it is very hard to steer and sometimes it goes in a squint direction and off course when u try to push it up the aisle. Well this suggestion is self-explanatory... maybe every 100th ship should steer incorrectly and leave the pilot struggling to fly in straight lines. 2) Colored Smoke Trailsyou are gonna love this one!!! You know how you get Aeroplane display teams like the Red Arrows etc who perform aerobatics in the sky and do special 'fly-overs' at big sporting and state events? Well my idea is that.... instead of macros... which are dispalyed in type on the screen we change the F-keys so that you can leave a trail or red, white or blue smoke......... just like the red arrows airforce display team... It gets even better than this though as i will explain further... We would all be able to choose when to leave coloured vapour trails and which colour. so you can draw free-hand in the game by steering your plane and pressing the smoketrail button. http://img171.exs.cx/img171/252/idea7mp.jpgeg. "o2l to the rescue" & "you die" http://img105.exs.cx/img105/2451/idea22td.jpg or you can have it automated for macros.... and choose the words for your macro to be displayed in vapour trail writing instead of normal text !!!!!! 3) Worst Player SymbolIn our game we have a skull symbol alongside the nametag of the highest points scorer in the arena.Ii mentioned this a long time ago but now i have revisted the idea and changed it slightly. First off I like how one guy gets a skull symbol. What i suggested originally was that there should be a symbol for the worst player and i think i suggested a rotating cookie symbol would be nice, or wedge of cheese or something. I've thought about it a bit more and i think the worst player spinning gravestone and this will alert all the other players in the room who is the easiest target to kill. 4) Emergency Parachute Braking SystemI've now learned from reading the other topics that some of my suggestions are too hi-tech that they cannot be done... but i will still share my latest idea anyway... i was thinking of an EPBS (Emergency Parachute Braking System). This would be a parachute that you can trigger by pressing the 'P' button after you have just boosted down East tube or main entrance and cannot jam on the breaks quick enough. When i fly I can be a bit reckless and trigger-happy on the boosts and only a combination of braking and an emergency parachute would enable me to stop before i reach the waiting enemy who always kill me coz i speed too fast into the waiting core. This is where the EPBS can be used to maximum advantage. 5) Legitimate Identiy Thefthaha, well you probably know that I don't approve of the theft of iden!@#$%^&*ies.... but but but we could make it a cunning fun feature of the game. We already allow the creation of ghost ships floating around... but my idea is that every so often... about 20 minutes apart, that the Bots add a random ghost ship to the arena and the ghost ship carries the name of a random player from the database who is offline! The ghost ship self destructs after 1 minute with a large explosion... which can damage any nearby ships. So, while I'm at home sleeping the ghost of O2l could be computer generated floating around the deathstar, and going out with a bang! Or while players like Rayfighter is at work or Revolver is at school the Bots could be creating his ghost for a short period and confuse players and maybe even damage them, lol. Automated iden!@#$%^&*y-theft with a more fun reason. 6) Rainbow & Jackpot of GoldSometimes in our zone we can hold flags for a certain length of time and win Jackpots! When one of the teams holds all the flags and wins the jackpot.... could it be possible for a translucent rainbow to appear cascading across the screen with a Pot of Gold (Jackpot) at one end of the rainbow. So, the team secures the jackpot but my twist is that only one person can collect the points!! Then there is a big race to the end of the rainbow to collect the Jackpot of Gold !! http://www.jmadden.info/Shamrock/Pot%20of%20Gold.png 7) The Elastic Trip WireYou can lay a trip wire across strategic points.... to block the entrance to tunnels and tubes. Or u can use it to lock the opponents into areas like east or north etc. The trip wire is only a temporary weapon and timesout after about 20 seconds... It is more of a defensive weapon Bombs and bullets of both teams can bounce off the trip wire and come back on themselves. It is very elastic so any ships driving down a blocked tube will bounce off the wire and ricochet back to where they came from. Magnetic MinesI've not been to the developers forum thing that Coster suggested to me coz i think i'm not intellectual enough yet, and i love to post my ideas here!! Hehe, but i still have another plan up my sleeve to share with you!! You are playing the game when you are suddenly chased by an evil arch-nemisis opponent. What do you do in this high pressure situation??? You lay down a special mine!!! a Magnetic mine which attracts all metal ships towards it within a 5 mile radious!! The magnet device pulls your arch enemy off course until it is stuck to the magnetic mine and becomes unable to move. And then you press the new 'detonate' key to blow up the ship(s) thats stuck to the magnet mine. The only way a trapped ship can unhook itself off the magnetic mine is to hope your enemy gets killed first.... in which case the mine expires. or if the opponent doesn't activate the detonation within so many seconds. 9) Astroid MorphingNow this is one of the most cunning ones yet. I always say that, lol but I like this idea myself. So just picture you are flying around and seem to be in a sticky situation. What can I do to protect myself or buy some time? Oh' I'll press letter 'M' and I'll be safe!!! For the M-button is better known as the Morph button which temporarilly turns youre ship into a rock and blends in with the astroids floating about in the background. I thank you. 10) Oil SpillageCan we have ships that leave oil spillages behind .... that makes the other ships spin out of control. 11) Black Box Flight RecorderI love this idea It's taken from real life plane crashes when they try to recover the audio and telemetry data from crashed aeroplanes. But in deathstarbattle the black box flight recorder works slightly differently. When a ship gets blown up... a small black box should fall from the debris.... Now the first ship who retreives that black box pics up a notepad file of that person's chat logs from the last 20 minutes!! 12) Tiny Deathstarlike what was proposed in the HUGE deathstar thread only everything is in fact tiny.... ships and map are almost microsscopic and the who DS can fit on your screen at once 13) Sping Loaded DeviceOne of my least popular ideas. I can't understand it coz it makes perfect sense! I feel we could have a spring loaded device attached to the undeside of our ships. Supposing you are trapped in a corner then we could utalise a springpad device to leap over walls. All u need is for the ops to let us fix one of the to the belly of the ships and make wall-jumping legal thanks to the spring mechanism. 14) Refueling in flightMaybe we should be able to 'refuel' (re-energise) in flight when someone attaches.... the small price they pay for attatching to you is to give u a little energy top-up. http://internettrash.com/users/tep06/a6refuel02.jpg 15) Chameleon Defence Mechanism.It's simple and effective and it works in the natural world!!! Its known as CDM, the Chameleon Defence Mechanism. You are flying along and fearing an attack.... so you press the 'C' button to engage a colour/shape change. so your ship 1 changes into ship 5, o2 ship 2 becomes 7 or whatver. You get the picture... your ship changes into a 'friendly' ship. Meanwhile, your dot on the radar also changes to the colour as your opposition. Once CMD has been engaged, you can either use your undercover powers to survive in tricky situation and avoid detection... or u can pounce like a hungry lizard and try to catch your opponents off-guard. 16) Pilot Failure Thru BloodclotThe discovery of 'Economy Class Syndrome' (Deep Vein Thrombosis) should really be reflected in our game. Piloting ships for hours at a time without sufficient circulation of blood, dehydration and cramped conditions can bring on blood clots. It can happen to pilots, passengers and to couch potatoes playing at their PC. So perhaps at some point ships which have been playing for over an hour so should experience pilot failure and random loss of consciousness. And there should be a hospitalisation zone where they recouperate.... at which point they are 'safe' from Deep Vain thrombosis for another hour. http://www.traveldoctor.co.uk/images/dvt.gif 17) New Short Range weapon - cattle-prodship with a cattle-prod attached to the nose cone of the said ship. it can be used to stun enemies or electrocute the pilot of the ship that u ram into 18) New Long Range weapon - tranquiliser dartThe tranquiliser dart. another weapon designrd to stun opponents.. unlike the cattle-prod which hurts enemies up close, the tranquiliser dart can be fired from far away to temporarily immobilise enemy ships. 19) Halleys CometFlys thru space once in a blue moon and kills everything in its path.

Its more of a subspace joke then an actual idea right? 2- i dont remember dsb art beeing a big hit, + it would clog up screen and prolly create a !@#$%^&* load of lag3- sure as !@#$%^&* like that idea, it would be like the geek in the school yard, every one is picking on him to get his marbles. 4- just crash into a near wall when rocketing in enemy bullets and bounce out of trouble. but i kinda like the better brakes idea. 5- bahhh, id theft.. its more confusing then anything else. By ghost ship, if you mean a bit like a decoy, its ez to notice and to stay away from. and it would be more cool if it was someone online insted of offline who would be the ghost. more confusing. 6- that would take out all the meaning of teamworking to get jackpot. 7- like that trip wire thingy, but i think wall/bricks does almost the same thing, but i do think bricks have way 2 short time spawn. 8- thats kinda cool, maybe it could be like a special you win when getting in top 3 (for DSB ppl) like when u get thor or cloak. 9- that might be a bit excessive, and astroids never move in ss. 10- thats just mario kart speaking cause in a 3D space you would easily dodge the oil.. i prefer magnetic mine to the oil. 11- thats just wrong. and prolly 2 much data transfer. i do miss those green box you got with full charge or multiprize when killing someone 12- bah, not really impressed by that idea. tiny ships in big ds seems cool tho 13- thats just evil, still mario kart alike. 14- like that idea tho, insted of only one loosing energy when attaching, the 'host' could get the energy the other one 'lost'. 15- thats kinda cool, maybe a special like those magnetic mines or thor or cloak or w/e 16- no multiplayer game on the internet wants the player to stop playing for x reasons. 17- i dont like that ramming in someone idea.. kinda like the way it is right now where you can fly 'over' someone real quick like with a wb flying over a shark and turning around quickly to shoot him 18- i'd be so pist getting immobilised. 19- lol all around, good and bad ideas. some of them should be considered if you ask me.

I began by posting my ideas here in the DSB suggestions forum in March this year. 5 months later I've gathered them together to present to you in one thread instead of lots of separate ones. http://forums.deathstarbattle.com/viewforum.php?f=42 i've started quite a few topics on all these things at DSB. The suggestions forum isn't too busy but some of my ideas have received decent positive feedback while some have been laughed out of court by the technical wizards. 1, 3, 5, 7 & 10 are my favourites. 4, 11 & 16 appeal to my sense of fun. lol I'd dearly love to see just one tiny little idea of mine that make it the game but now i dont think it will happen

I know there's a way to 'damage' ships, so they lose a prize... but it would be cool to have damaged thrusters or gun mounts...You could lose power on the left thruster, so your ship would turn left when you thrust forward, or you could lose one of your gun mounts with multifire... you'd shoot only 2 bullets instead of 3 (or 3 instead of 4 with doublebarrel) Then I guess there would be a way to get repaired... at a base or something.. 16) Pilot Failure Thru Bloodclothaha
