Flickering and Slowing Down

ok this is getting frustrating. and now it has happened on both versions .038 and .039.

 

i got a powerup in the game that said "repeller increased"

i tried to use it. the controls screen said it was shift+ctrl.

once i did it, everything slowed down and the whole screen started flickering, glitching, and pieces of my desktop were flickering on the screen as well.

 

i uninstalled the whole game and reinstalled it. i even deleted all the files it left behind in the folder (profile, user data, zones, etc)

 

i've tried those check-boxes under "Advanced Options"

 

i've tried different resolutions, even though it played fine on the highest resolution before i tried this "repel" thing.

 

nothing i can think of will make the problem go away.

 

is the program installing files to a folder besides just the Continuum folder? if so, will deleting those files and reinstalling help?

 

can anyone think of anything else to try? has this happened to anyone else?

Every since you tried to repel, it always does it, every moment you are playing?

 

I doubt this was because of the repel. My guess is that some other program on your computer captured the shift+control key and then started running/doing something. Entered some mode that messes up the screen.

 

You can try playing in windowed mode. I am fairly certain that it should not happen in that mode, no matter what it is.

yes, every zone.

why would it keep doing it even after reinstalling and restarting my computer if it is another program doing something?

because you haven't disabled that keyboard shortcut in the other program yet
