BUT if i click into the menu (no matter if resolution, game, help or whatever) continuum freezes. . this happens everytime! aside from this crash my system and continuum works fine.. please help.. thx!
»SOS Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Try cleaning your system of spyware and reinstalling the latest drivers.
Bargeld Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 also play with the "avoid page flipping" and "software emulation" features in advanced options
Guest flip Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 there is no spyware or virus active. the system is running perfectly. i'd like to check the advanced options, but exactly this is the problem:i can't get into the menu, continuum would freeze. so is there the possibility to edit the config manually somehow?
»SOS Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 You're saying as soon as you click on anything at all, it freezes?
Guest flip Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 ctrl-a works very well, but changing the settings won't help.. indeed, it's a strange freeze.. after clickin the menu bar in continuum, the freeze and then shutting down the task, some other applications also have display problems with the menu bar.. does continuum use any dlls like mfc?
»Maverick Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 I am quite sure this problem isn't Continuum related but more windows related - especially because you said more programs have problems with menus. Continuum uses standard windows menus. I suggest you to download the latest updates and if that isn't working, repair your windows installation.
Guest flip Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 and again i tell you, i have no problems with my system, i'm a coder and have a very good overview of my system.. other programs don't have any problems, the problems only start with continuum. so, does continuum use any library ? so i'll check these..
»Maverick Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 The only libaries it uses are in the continuum home directory - apart from the directx but that is not related to this problem.
»SOS Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 No, it does not use anything but plain old Win32. Since nobody else has ever reported this, I think it's safe to say something's wonky with your computer. A trial-and-error frenzy is in order. Or you could just give your system info (start->run->msinfo32) and post it here in case I might spot something odd.
Guest flip Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 now i got it.. i tested StyleXP for a couple of days. After removing it, Continuum now works again. Seems that there are problems with StyleXP, but whatever, i don't think many guys are using it.. thanks for your help!
