»SOS Posted June 21, 2005 Author Report Posted June 21, 2005 Right now, the foundation of the game is being worked on. Things like these come later But, well, say your ideas about input, networking, sound and graphics as well if you have them
Paine Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 you should be able to make a custom ship overlay... the same way you make banners
Samapico Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 -Charging up weapons... charge up your lvl3 guns for some time and they come out charged up... or bombs... or just comes out faster... could be edited with a few settings (i.e. Guns:ChargeupTime: #### Guns:ChargeupDamage:#### Guns:ChargeupSpeed:#### Guns:ChargeupEnergy:#### same thing with bombs , plus Bombs:ChargeupThrust:#### to modify the backfire thrust of a charged bomb ... all this desactivated by ChargeupTime:0 ... since those settings would be modifiers, you wouldn't need one for each bullet/bomb level... just +/- to the standard value... ) -Heat (kinda like in MechWarrior... each weapon would generate heat, also charged up weapon, afterburners..getting hit could warm you up too.. if you p!@#$%^&* a certain heat level, you get an engine shutdown... possibility of new special items: Engine Coolant , Heat bomb (when shot at enemy, heats him) )would make possible things such as fast-fire energy-free weapons.. yet not unlimited , for a machinegun for example... would also bring a whole new dimension in weapon managing
BG Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Different respawn timers, So if you have EMP when you died, you would have to wait longer, or if a bomb finished you off, you would have to wait longer, and so on.
Paine Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Wave respawn, i.e. the whole team (or 3+ players) respawn at the same time in a small area ( slightly bigger than one L4 bomb's prox)
BDwinsAlt Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 I was thinking, Add a spot on server.ini like: website=http://www.ZONESITE.com So that when in alt tab when you click on web links on the menu you can click Zone Website and it thats you there. Just a thought.
»SOS Posted June 22, 2005 Author Report Posted June 22, 2005 You can already add your website to that menu (hint: description)
GENERAL_SLAYER Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 i think like a real link not just the website...cuz when the website showup for me on the description you cant click them...
The Apache Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 ...hmm. I can't think of anything to add to the new and improved SS... Everything I would of suggested has already been said.
AstroProdigy Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Incase they havent already said this....the ability to have directions for bullets and bombs. That means you can create missiles that arent just balls but actual missiles that point at u. This can also mean the ability to use lasers. Lasers would really liven up the game id say. The problem with lasers currently is if u make them go fast as lasers the best u can do with them is dots that are far apart. If u stretch the gfx itl look like a laser for only one direction. all the other directions itl look like lines parallel to each other. So yeah that.
»Purge Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Probably make "walking" frames, so a ship going straight in one direction can have different graphics for it like maybe, for a soldier, a walking effect.
Delivery Man Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Walls that can allow bombs/bullets to p!@#$%^&* through one side but not the other. Walls that will allow players to fly through one side but not the other. Walls that act as permanent bricks for a freq. You could do so many more creative things with bases if this were possible.
»Purge Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I think the special tiles (#191-255) does what you want.
Delivery Man Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I think the special tiles (#191-255) does what you want. Those tiles only give you the ability to fly over/under them. They have no affinity with the direction that a ship can fly over them, or the direction bombs/bullets travel through them. Those tiles are really only good for making things look graphically nice.
BG Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 doors? bricks?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I believe he means a wall that is part of the map, that only a certain team can go through.
Bak Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 that's not true. The animated team map both teams can go through while the animated enemy brick is more of a ranomly timed warp pad. See http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php?!...;*le=LVL_Format
Samapico Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I think the special tiles (#191-255) does what you want. Those tiles only give you the ability to fly over/under them. They have no affinity with the direction that a ship can fly over them, or the direction bombs/bullets travel through them. Those tiles are really only good for making things look graphically nice.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> actually... those 'special' tiles are not only fly under/over tiles, some have the property of bricks, and some have weird properties... there's some topic in the dev forum about those... really interesting. If I remember correctly, some tiles 'absorb' thor hammers, some others let weapons go through, but not ships, or vice-versa...
»Purge Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Yes, that's right. Here's a list of what all the 'special' tiles do from an earlier topic: New Special Tiles Report.Version 1 - Revision 1 Report errors and new findings to Arnk Dylie If you want to copy this file, go ahead. Credit is appreciated in such a case. Apologies for any typos and spelling errors. No apologies for sentence fragments. ***** These tiles are not part of the standard tile set. Their functionality was discovered recently.SSME will not read or create maps with these tiles. To get these tiles, you must use an editorthat will use these tile IDs. As with any tile, you may not lay mines or bricks on top of these tiles. ID #191 [White]-Ships fly through this wall- Visible on radar.- Ships fly through these tiles.- Non-thor Weapons and powerballs do not fly through, they will either bounce or detonate. Weapons fired inside these tiles will either detonate (if they're a bomb,) or float in place until they expire.- Tile is invisible. ID #220 ["w"]- Wormholes- Wormholes. These are not new. However, if you place this tile and then other tiles directly below and to the right of it, the wormhole will no longer have a warping effect.- Visible on radar.- Weapons are absorbed on these tiles. ID #241 [Yellow]- Weapons disappear- Visible on radar.- Ships fly through these tiles.- Weapons that touch this tile disappear (they will NOT detonate or make any other sort of destruction effect, just disappear.) Thors are not affected by this tile, however.- Tile is invisible. ID #242 [RED] - Autowarp, Anti-thor.- Invisible on radar.- Ships will be warped upon flying onto this tile (as if they pressed the warp key, so it makes the warp noise.)- Thors will disappear upon flying onto this tile (again, not destruction effect.)- Tile is invisible. ID #243-#251 ["p"]- Phantom wall- Invisible on radar.- This acts exactly like a wall, just you can't see it on radar.- Tile is invisible. ID #252 [enemy brick]- Enemy Brick- Invisible on radar.- Looks like an enemy brick, anyone can fly on it.- This tile acts kind of like a door. If you fly on it, you will be warped after a few seconds.- If you place a portal on it and then warp back, you will be warped back to the spawn point instantly. ID #253 [team brick]- Team Brick- Looks like a teammate's brick.- Ships fly through it.- No apparent special effect.- Invisible on radar. ID #254 [blue] - Improved Anti-mining Anti-bricking- Tile is invisible. Also invisible on radar.- This allows you to create mine-free zones without making the map look bad on radar. ID #255 - [GREEN]Phantom Green- Tile looks like a green.- It cannot be picked up and will not grant any prize for flying over it.- Invisible on radar.
GENERAL_SLAYER Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 what about so you can resterster your screen name into the system so you can have the same screen names and such and such*. Make it so not just anyone can make a zone becasue if this contuines then soon eought almost everyone will have a zone or want one. But i would hate to be the person who desides the creatoin of a zones fate. they would get so much spam! i dont know just flip a coin. *i would like to stop some multiclenting too. that what restersting a screen name would be also good for. and how bout bricks that turn. maybe even one that goes in a circle and in sets you configure the circle brick's time, dimater, radius, and amount. that would be good to cover some flags to get some reinforcements. just wouldnt be fun if it was too long tho. -gs
Samapico Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 ooh... special item: reflective shieldcasts a shield of a certain diameter around you, so you can protect you and your allies from enemy weapons... it would deflect them away.
Witchie NL Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 walls that can be destroyed by gun fire or bombs. And more then 8 ships..ya ya I know I said it before <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm.... destroyable bricks? good idea. EDIT: as for the 2 different energies suggestion -Hull & shields & ammo.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> what if you make reeaaaalllly special weapons that destroy bricks but only 1 ship can do that and the bombs are realy rare also an inprovement can me more things like burst repel and thors and such things like atomic bombs: lets the screen flitter (you can set in .lvz file but if you have bomb its more fun.) warp bomb: warps the 1 u hit back to safetyheat seeking bullet: goes for ... amount of time after an guy with afterburnes on or rocket on
Samapico Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 like, say, a repel?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> not exactly... it would reflect only what hits it during a longer period of time... and would stay around your ship as you moveIt would use the same principles than the repel.. it would be a moving long-period short-range repel
BG Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Repel Proof Mines, that are weaker, perhaps? Or mines that can explode multiple times.
