Continuum Not Loading

I really need some help here, I have been a long time player since 98 and I love the game. I spent all day looking at the site for my problem and found one similar but it did not do anythig to help resolve my situation.

When I try and load continuum my cursor goes into an hour gl!@#$%^&* and in the process tab in task manager I can see it trying to load but it just pops up then disapears. The only way that I can close this process down is to log the user off in windows xp. I have a nivida 5500 (256) so video isn't the issue and I was playing not to long ago. I just recently moved and now have astablished a cable connection so I am eager to play. I really need a live thread to help me out here can anyone help me troubleshoot that knows what is causing this not just giving me shoot in the dark theory's?

I had this happen to me. What i had to do was add a new user (Admin) to xp and delete the old one. Some how the user file Developed a bug. Anyway try to see if this works for you. It worked for me.
