Phoenix2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Hiya This is directed to the developers of Continuum I myself play continuum on a regular basis and noticed there was a linux client (apparently unsupported now), Well I was playing around with it on my laptop (running debian, my home PC running XP) and managed to get it working I'd be interested in taking over the linux client if it's been disbanded as ya never know, hopefully I'd be able to get it officially running again (as you'll notice I got banned for a couple of hours trying to get my profile to log in with an apparently invalid password ) btw how long do the bans last coz i'd like to see if it will connect under linux (I notice its missing a couple of bitmaps but that's fixable) Joe
»Maverick Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Nobody noticed you got banned It will go away in a few hours, exactly like the message sais so.(First "ban" is a few minutes, second "ban" is a few hours where you can't login to the network)For these tests, I suggest you try to connect to a different network or a zone which is standalone. This way you can try out connecting to a server quite often.
»SOS Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 The Linux version, Snrrrubspace, is not supported on any major zone. Only poorly configured or testing zones really allow it to even enter. It has so far failed to get official support, without which it cannot be made to connect to the zones (it does not have the most important parts of Continuum's encryption algorithm). Without that, there's little point in developing it. (Maybe the Subspace v2 topic could be of interest to you?)
