»SOS Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 Yes. There is a firewall. No way to byp!@#$%^&* it except asking the library's computer administrator. Quote

»SOS Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 You can't configure anything manually. It's blocked. That's all there is to it Quote
Dav Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 at your library you are lucky. TBH i am surprised you can even install SS on a libary machine. Quote
Gibs. Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 It worked at my Public Library, it also had a 2 hour limit, but I also seemed to get past that every easily, by Clicking uninstall, then log off and it stays on without a Timer left Quote

HUFF Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 at my school i disabled the school security by going into the registry and disabling proxy (ProxyEnable -> 0) i dont know if that'd work, i'm dumb Quote
Bargeld Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 If you disable the proxy, chances are you will lose ALL internet connectivity... There used to be a nice pinned thread on this topic. Here's the basic idea of the thread: If you are trying to play at school, work, or any other public location and are having problems connecting, it's usually due to their security config. Routers, firewalls, and proxies are all tools used by administrators to prevent unwanted network traffic. The admins have purposefully blocked you from playing the game and the only solution would be to ask the admins to give you access through the system. They usually will not comply and therefore there is nothing you can do about it. To sum up:If you are in a public lab/library/etc. you will probably not be able to play. If you can play at your local public computer station, then either a) you are lucky, the admins don't care, or c) the admins are dumb. Regardless of the reason, count your graces because normally you can't play from a public location like that. Quote
GENERAL_SLAYER Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 dont even try at school...they thought i was downloading porn! Quote
