»SD>Big Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 ok get this, i have sound and music set to zero. however, HOWEVER when i play run ctm in windowed mode, sometimes i hear certain sounds, the firing of a bomb, a ship bouncing off a wall, the sound of the exhaust, the sound of a goal, i can hear those sounds even though music and sound are set to zero. now i figured this only happens when i run ctm, and while it's loading i switch to another program, in other words, its not the focused window. get what i mean? if i enter a zone and don't touch anything, leave ctm as my focused window, everything is fine, i get no sound whatsoever. if i enter a zone then switch to excel or IE or whatever while the zone is loading, then when i play i get those certain sounds. i don't know what if what i said is coherent and i don't feel like re-reading it to edit. i hope you get my point. someone fix this, it's irritating!! Raem Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Yea...I know what you mean. I found that if you disable sounds from the game menu (options-->sounds) you never hear it in game. Also, you could just ?sound=x then ?sound=0 back again, or even stick it in auto. Quote

Bargeld Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 Big, I get the same behavior on my laptop. I also use ?sound=0 in order to mute in-game sounds while listening to music loudly. It could be a) a quirk in the ?sound=0 and/or an error with the soundcard and playback (somewhere along the audio flow of data) I have soundMax as my primary audio device, if you have that also, it may be a quirk with that model of sound device, or an error in drivers.
