Guest 909 Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I searched for this, but couldn't find anything. I'm wondering if SS supports dual displays somehow... I've got three 17" monitors running at 1280x1024 each. So I'd need a 3840x2880 resolution theoretically? Has anyone gotten SS to run on dual displays?
Samapico Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I' d say the resolution you need is more like 3840x1024...And I have no idea but... oh it would be great ... could see the whole map.. heheheheeeeeeeee
»SOS Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Well, I remember seeing some pic a while ago about another game done like this but it may have been photoshopped You'll most likely need some extra program for it, try old master Google.
Raem Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 If the game doesn't offer SurroundGaming then I believe you need a hacked exe or modified ini or something else along those lines. You could try the matrox forums though..
»Maverick Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Check your settings of your video card. Maybe it already offers such support. Else try to google some program who does it for you, must be something for it already... EDIT: Found this:With dualhead video cards or the triplehead Matrox Parhelia (surround gaming)' date=' it is also possible to play some games stretched across all monitors by using a stretched (spanned) display mode. This way, the game sees a single wide monitor instead of 2 or 3 monitors (the game needs to support widescreen display modes). For more on surround gaming with the Matrox Parhelia, see the review.[/quote']
Raem Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040216/index.html was an interesting read
Samapico Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 (the game needs to support widescreen display modes)
Samapico Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 hmm.. a thing you could probably do with 2 screens tho, is having the 2nd screen show the chat window...
protoman.exe Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 How do you hook up all these screen , I got like , 3 extra 12" screens
»SOS Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Multiple video cards would be required for over 2 screens. Video cards usually have 2 outputs these days.
Dav Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 hmm.. a thing you could probably do with 2 screens tho, is having the 2nd screen show the chat window...<{POST_SNAPBACK}> problem is that the chat screen is closed when the game screen is up. Duel screen is god for this though...
»SOS Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 If you play in windowed mode, you can have chat window on other screen when playing
»Maverick Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 You can have your screens setup so it streches windows accross all screens, this way you can play Continuum on 3 screens, maybe even with a weird resolution. The chat window closes as soon as you go to the graphical view (either in window or in full screen). Only way to byp!@#$%^&* this is to multiclient on another name
»SOS Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 No, you can do what I said. But I won't say how just yet. See if you can figure it out (it's real simple) (I am evil, yes?)

The Maurauder Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 No, you can do what I said. But I won't say how just yet. See if you can figure it out (it's real simple) (I am evil, yes?)<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Multiclient and use one client as chat-only on one screen, play on the other 1-2 screens with no visible chat??
»SOS Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 How true Options->Chat->Show always And then play in windowed mode!
