Guest kapzul Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 ok im trying to stay calm. ive been playin for around 2 years on continuum and ive never had any problems. like 5 days ago ALL THE SUDDEN i try to connect to Redstar Zone and it says "Information" on the top and "Connection to server lost." on the bottem for the description. i never EVER ask for help on forums but im at a loss here. PLZ HELP! (i also tried other zones and nothing works, and on top of that, ive reinstalled windows since then so its not a virus...)
»Maverick Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Please provide us with some more information about your computer, internet type and ISP. - What Operating System do you have?- Do you recently installed something?- etc. (everything else that may be relevant to us) My first guess is that there must be a firewall blocking the ports. If you have a router, configure it via the web admin interface. Also try to disable Windows XP Firewall or other applications that might be blocking it.
Guest kapzul Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 actually i dont have my firewall all tight and stuff cuz i just reinstalled windows. so theres nothing in its way. my computer has 512 ram, 2100 processor, 70 gig HD, and WIndows XP... its a pretty good computer. im runnin counter strike: source on it and thats perfectly fine. im playin that now that continuum is down for me. so continuum should DEFINATELY work if a super-3d-computer-buster-game works lol. css tests all computers to the max so continuum is just bein a !@#$%^&* man lol. plz help if u can. ill lower my firewall all the way down but it wont do anything. if other games work with my firewall, then theres no reason for this simple 2d space fighter game not to work; ya know?
Guest Guest Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 yup i c all the zones and the pings and the amount of players in the zones. im connected to the internet and everything i just cant join a zone. i just wanna play. now as of my firewall if that indeed is the actual problem; how would i adjust the tightness and stuff? (besides the fact that i have reinstalled windows since then, and it still wont work. ya know how u reinstall sumthing, everything in settings for that program is reseted. well, i reinstalled the intire OS and its still not letting me join.... so thats weird)
»SOS Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 What is your player name in the profile? This can happen if the name is invalid and possiby in some other rare cases. If you see the ping times, it is most likely not a connection-related problem but just looks like one.
