larry Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Okay iv been playing for two years, recently reformatted my computer and got rid of the crap, went on ctm and it worked okay But then I installed a couple of programs (nothing unusual, Norton AntiVirus, Zone Alarm Personal, downloaded the latest IE6, MSN, Nero express) and BAM, continuum screws up. I get to the entering zone screen and it screws up, just freezes the whole computer. Now i know i get connected to the zone because i get the news file download, but once it seems to actually start entering... nothing. I tried entering a localhost server on my machine and got this error in the SubGame console Connection request from: ER>LarryFri.SNIP.24: WARNING: Login checksum mismatch Larry><252911374><127.0.0.1>Menu kickout delay exceeded: ER>Larry Throughout this ctm didnt respond, although on localhost it didnt crash the whole pc, when connecting to a main zone the whole system freezes The specs (although i dont think this is the cause, i assume it must be something ON the computer):56mb RAM (+8mb shared)700mhz Celeron IIWindows 98SE56k Modem As i said, this worked after i reformatted, the problem started after I installed above programs. Any ideas appreciated, otherwise im away from CTM
larry Posted March 18, 2005 Author Report Posted March 18, 2005 Oh, the problem seems to be solved, i just left it opening and it connected, but their may be something wrong with it because of the erorrs before. Anyone got any idea what happened ? Edit:And nope, its not working again. As soon as my pc crashed from some other unknown cause, it stopped working agian. No idea whats happening here but i doubt its a virus, just scanned my pc. Im uninstalling programs one at a time and seeing if anything helps but iv no idea. Heellpp! <3
»SOS Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 I think I remember I once had the same error. However, the only fix I could find was a format. Not too sure it was the samr though - it was a long time ago. Other than uninstalling stuff, I don't know what could be tried. Upgrade drivers maybe? Does not seem likely to work but who knows...
»Maverick Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 update video and sound drivers. Also update windows aswell. If that doesn't work you should try to reinstall continuum.
