Guest Falcon Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 I'm not quite sure why this happens, since it's only happened twice in all the time that I've played SS. Anyhow, the problem I have is that I won't be able to load any webpages when Continuum is open. When I close Continuum webpages load again. I've tried closing and re-loading Continuum but the problem still occurs. I'm sure that I could restart my computer to fix this problem, but I'd rather have a fix other than a restart if there's one available. I should note that I use full screen mode and just alt-tab to the chat window to look at webpages in Firefox. I've tried loading webpages in IE too, and got the same result. Quote

Falcon Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 I guess I didn't explain the problem like I should have. But I'll answer some of the replies first. No, I'm on 3mb DSL. I have a firewall that doesn't need to be disabled, I was talking about rebooting and not reformatting, and my options in Firefox are set correctly. Usually I have absolutely no problem accessing websites while Continuum is open. But as I said, two random times I've had an occurance where Firefox and IE would refuse to even attempt to load any pages. Closing Continuum fixes it but I idle in the zone I play in, and naturally I can't idle in a zone and look at webpages at the same time when this happens. A restart and/or logging out of windows and then back in fixes it without a problem, but I'd rather know why this occurs like it does and see if it can be fixed, since it's most obvious that Continuum is the cause. It seems like Continuum is blocking any access to HTTP port using programs since my email notifier also stops functioning when this occurs. I guess this can just be a heads up to Priit and Ekted, unless someone already knows why this occurs and has a fix. It's nothing serious as it's only happened to me twice since Continuum has been out, but when it does happen it's quite an annoyance. Quote
»SOS Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 If you are using a cheap router, it could be because of that. But otherwise, seems like magic. Quote
»Maverick Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 yea maybe a cheap router that blocks multiple connections Quote
DJ muppetmaster Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 If you're using the speed up firefox trick found here : --------- it makes firefox connect to a website through multiple connections and so, it won't be able to browse because continuum is using the ports. Quote
