Or use Photoshop to change the palette ^_^

Or just use RGB mode without any palette :D (and convert it to a palette when you save - SSME can only use paletted images)

If you're talking about the palette of a 256 colors image (8bit) ... Make it a 16bit picture instead. Default tileset usually are 256 colors, but it's not necessary

w%$&%&

I'm using the TileEdit tool. When making each individual tile, you select a color for each pixel. BUT, only certain colors are available. How do i make mainly green, grey, and brown colors?

you have to use something else than TileEdit to arrange your tiles to get around this problem.. TileEdit will screw your tileset and turn it 256 colors

who needs it when paint can do the job perfectly, a tile is so small that biulding it by pixel is oftem a way to make exactly what you want. Thats how i made the new flag!@#$%^&* tiles and i thought it looked quite nice.

I make my tilesets mostly pixels by pixels too... but in Paint shop Pro.. it's much easier to arrange the tiles afterwards... I create a background layer made of 16x16 bright colored squares, then I lay my tiles on them so they fit on the tile 'grid'
