Here's the main problem i've been having with Continuum. I go into any zone, and about a minute later i'm either put into spectator mode then disconnected from the server, or just plain disconnected as soon as i go into that zone. My friend is also having the same problems. Here's my PC specs if it helps.

PC Speed: 2.0 GHZ

Operating System: Win XP SP2

Memory: 768 MB

Internet connection: Cable with Router

Also, ISP is just my local cable provider, so no AOL here. I'm always running ad-aware bout two/three times a week. I've tried numerous times before to turn off the windows firewall in control panel, but the computer will automatically switch it back on. Any advice?

Are you closing all programs that are running? That can often cause lag. And try to just Disable the Firewall, what Kind of firewall is it? Do other computers run off your router? Or are you behind the router?

Yes, all other programs are being closed out. The firewall is the Windows Firewall located in Control Panel. Other computers do run off the router and I am also connected to the router. Attached is the trace.txt file of 25 cycles.

Do you have another firewall of any virus programs? What kind of router do you have?

None at all whatsoever. The router is LinkSys.

I've just tried playing in Trench Wars, and I would say it was about a minute or two, I got the message, You have been put into spectator mode due to high latency (spike) Then, Warning: No data coming from server. And at the bottom of the screen it said, You have been disconnected because the server has not been receiving any data from you. Before I played, I turned off the Windows Firewall.

Sounds to me like your connection is "freezing up" for a few seconds and then resuming. Try to observe the lights on your cable modem, see if maybe it loses connection now and then.

Well, the modem and router are both downstairs, but I do usually lose connection about once or twice a month and have to reset everything to get my internet back up and running. Both the modem and router are LinkSys, but i've never noticed a loss of connection. When I do lose internet connection, for some reason the Internet light on the router stays lite green, indicating it is still getting a connection when it isn't.

Maybe there is a short in your cable? I remeber there was a short in my e cable one time and i had to push the !@#$%^&* out of it to even get a light.

We did have a problem where we kept resetting the modem and router, and still had no connection. Apparently the underground wire went bad, but they replaced it with a new wire like 2 months ago.

i doubt it will be in excess of 100 meters somehow.

Yea, my cable isn't very long at all. Im in a room directly above the corner where the router is in the room below. So it might only be like 30' or so.

And there's only 2 other pc's running through the router, but half the time they're not being used.

Yep. I've tried Extreme Games, Trench Wars, and the Star Wars zone. But, they all give the same results. Stay connected for a minute or so, get kicked into Spectator mode due to high latency. Then all the ships on the screen flicker, then I get a message that says something like, Warning: No information coming from server!. Immediatly after that, i'll quit, try to go back into the game, and it won't let me back in like right after it happens.

Try removing the router and using a direct connection. Sounds very much like a small 30-second drop of the connection. Probably the ISPs fault but it's !@#$%^&* hard to get them to understand these "mystery drops" - I've tried, I had the same kind of problem...
