»Maverick Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Tired of waiting for uploads?Tired of not having the possibility to make your own settings?Tired of waiting a long time before you can check if your LVZ works? Well, why not install the server yourself, and send sysops the final version of settings/lvzs/maps? Setup is too technical? Well, download & unzip the zip attached and follow these easy steps : 1) Start subbill.exe2) Start subgame2.exe3) Start Continuum4) Select "Zones"->"Add Custom Zone"5) IP = 127.0.0.1, Port = 6000, Name = test6) Enter zone7) do :yourname:*sysop Finished, have fun Mr. Sysop! micro machine war Posted February 7, 2005 Author Report Posted February 7, 2005 do i run subbil and subgame2 from my server, or just the hard drive? cause when i put that on my server and run it...it keeps asking for zlib.dll which is already there.
»SOS Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 You run both on the server. If it asks for the zlib.dll then maybe the working directory is not right so it tries to run in another directory.
micro machine war Posted February 7, 2005 Author Report Posted February 7, 2005 what can i do to help it find the file?
»SOS Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 And of course run it the right way. (There is no special way. It'll go wrong only if you do some funky !@#$%^&* - should run just fine if you simply execute it.) Describe how you run it if you can't get it to work.
micro machine war Posted February 8, 2005 Author Report Posted February 8, 2005 im using Smart ftp and im just right clicking and choosing execute.
Chambahs Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 is someone hosting you? or are you hosting yourself?
»SOS Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Nononono! That'll download the file to your computer and run it there! Note: You cannot run this on a web server! If you do not use a web server, ask the admin for help on how to run things.

Chambahs Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Listen guy, if someone is hosting you, ask he/she to run the subill and subgame for you, your not supposed to execute it on the FTP
micro machine war Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 its my server...im hosting it. excuse the ignorance, i feel dumb already. how else do i run the file from the server outside of ftp?
micro machine war Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 ok well i opened it off my hd and connected to the server(followed the 8 steps posted previously), and am logged in as a sysop... what do i do from here? and how do i set it to my server?
»SOS Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Well, if your server is your own computer, you don't need any FTP...Just run the two exes and that's all. Now when you are logged in as sysop, you can press esc+c to change the settings.
