I think i like all the ships barring terrier.

 

Problems - wb is so much fun to use and has everything

 

Now this isnt a problem really, but it is when everyone uses it.

 

Now everyone in wbs and lancasters therefore X ships arent going to be used.

Im hardly seeing anyone in X ships, i see mostly wbs a few javs quite a lot of lancs and levis.

 

Terrier isnt being used very much at all. Its slow, cant deal damage fast, its not even a precise ship, it doesnt take skill to use. Its just a boring outgunned ship. It doesnt have anything going for it. There isnt anything u can work on.

 

Ok you say it has 2000 energy and lasts ages and can mine rep.

 

a) with 2000 energy it just prolongs the terriers butchering.

with me and madgaz attaching to each other in base with 3 reps each, we managed to stay alive for ages. We hardly killed anything but people couldnt get rid of us. It was boring for us and boring for them

c) you hardly ever mine rep anyone people arent that stupid.

d) in centre the terrier lays mines and then floats around getting shot at...boring

e) with 4 warbirds a team, the mines get repped instantly taking terrier down to no energy, and then it gets thorred...

 

I could go on but i wont. I will just say this. We have a reasonably intelligent zone imo, but this ship is beyond intelligence, i have tried and so have others, but i still dont see it being used. I know some people like it, and im going to give it another go tonight, a really determined effort, to see if there is something that it can do.

 

Now i dont want the wb changed, but i think the other ships have got to be made more fun, and if sets stay like this X ships will have to be upgraded.

O another thing i happened to vote yes twice in the pub vote, but this shipset is by no means even close to being what it should be, getting there but not right at all.

I'd probably change my vote too. Things keep getting changed and the poll is completely innacurate.

 

Well the spider must also be changed, that can't fight anyone outside a base and is massacred by anyone with x in a base. I think the spider should be given a faster recharge rate and more slightly more energy (1100?).

 

As for the terr i can use it effectively against anyone, the key is getting them to chase you and laying mines in their path. Its a purely defensive ship. But having said that it does need more kick in attack, like better guns, maybe upping those current ones to lvl2 or increasing the bullet speed on them will do the trick.

im sorry but after running and mining for the 5th time, dont u think u would be bored that that is the only way of killing soneome...

Yeah it is a defensive ship, but its a bit over the top in terms of defence... i think an extremely effective way of making it better would be lower the delay between bomb shots, that way you can stack your bombs, which would be pretty effective in a base... maybe something like the shark has, although that may be too dramastic... even the delay the old terrier had. I think that would change the whole dimension of the ship, if your smart with the bullets you can outgun most other ships anyway.

With the exception of the bullets, that seems like the classic terrier. I have no problems killing with it. The ship is fine. In fact when I first came to this zone, that was the first ship I fell in love with...and now it's back.

 

As SeVeR and I have said, the spider is flat out broken. I'm more curious to know why they made the changes to the ship that was perfectly fine in the first place.

 

I voted 'no' until the spider is hugely fixed. I'm not exactly thrilled about the weasal either, but w/e.

 

Why do upper staff people try to make so many huge changes to this zone? Work on one ship at a time please with only small tinkerings. It's hard to keep a player base if you make so many radical changes all the time. The next sysop or w/e will come in and decide, "This zone needs new ship sets and I'm going to play God." Take 10 steps back and slow it down a bit. Let players have a chance to adjust to one change at a time. How the !@#$%^&* can anyone tell if there is a good balance too the ships if next week 2 or 3 of the ships are going to be 'redeveloped.'
