This is about the current settings,we are aware that some hates them and some loves them.

This post is dedicated to getting a public opinion from all of you. Votebot will be setup in pub very soon so that we can get feedback from all of 17th Parallel. These results, for both the map and setting, will be taken seriously.

I agree with Stylez, his map (and settings) should be put up for at least a trial period. His map is just simpler and easier.

edit: this probably would make more sense in the map thread

I think the warbird is fantastic, and i completely forgive Vile the state terrier is in. Because the warbird is a work of art, there is only 1 tiny thing, maybe throw in a few more burst bullets, but this isnt important, i think wb getting thrusters is fantastic, but this should definately not become shipset wide. Take a peak at my topic post.

Also weasel is good fun, i dont know what the balance is like, but a fool who dies to that mine derserves to die.

I prefer current warbird now.

Like the weasel - would like to see its energy put back to 1200 though. Also afterburners come in to mind upon it. Not as effective as warbird but roughly similar?

Terrier seems better now than before.

I would like to see Styles levi placed in, instead of the current one. His is more fun lol.

When it comes to burst though, all ships (including spid really) seem affected by the lack of getting hit by them

All the ships are great except the spider which is far too weak. I like its guns, its bombs could be slightly more rapid fire but the thing that really makes it terribly weak is its recharge rate.. even without cloak and stealth on. If its this low for a reason then still increase it but add some extra energy too because i spawned once today with 900.

Spider is supposed to be weak. Have you noticed what a burst can do now? You used to maybe kill 1 person with one. Now, if you burst carefully, you can take out like 3 enemies. It is an ambush craft, not a fighter.

As for the map, I still say that the bases are pretty far apart and large.

I think adding stylez's levi to Vile's sets would work out, i much prefer the guns on it and the drain, levi is meant to get in a base and hold it, not be a mobile turret in centre, murdering everyone.

Also the spider rear gun on Stylez's is cool, a bit like swr sets, i loved rear guns from swr. So maybe give spider forward firing on non multi, and forward and rear firing on multifire.

Also spider starts with 900, but can green to 1200. Which shouldnt take long with team greening. Maybe a marriage of sets like this might work.

Vile's Wb with Stylez'z Levi and spider rear guns. Also keep Vile's weasel.

I know I'm not around as much as I used to be, but every once in awhile I liked to drop by and play. With that said,..

The spider flat out sucks.

-I don't care about how much damage it's burst can do now. The old burst was just fine. The 'previous' spider was extremely versitile. Now it is back to the lame base burster of the old days. If you are going to go back into the past, then bring back the old warbird settings too. That ship was my favorite until Z !@#$%^&*ed it up. Now someone (vile?) did the same with the spider.

- EMP: It and old wzl were the only two ships to have emp and you took it away. Back three years ago I used to !@#$%^&* about how the zone never made any use of the emp and it has now regressed back to that state again. I was told this was because of the new weasal mines (which I don't like either, but I rarely ever played any of the countless versions of that ship, so it's not my place to complain about it).

-What is the point for it to have such a huge delay after shooting its BIG level one bomb. With that delay might as well give it a level two or not bother with giving it a bomb at all.

- I wont complain about taking away it's double barrel if the bombs are fixed, but if you have no plans in fixing the bombs, I suggest giving it a huge upgrade in the guns department as the ones now are worthless.

I'd like the original (or should I say previous settings...things change so much in this zone it's hard to keep up with anything) settings on the spider back please. It was well balanced with the jav and shark. At least any experienced player would recognize this.

Sorry if there was a topic for suggestions on the new changes. I didn't feel like looking for it and found this topic at the top.

I agree, the old settings were best... IT all started with the one hit weasel, people didnt like it, so mike got new staff memebers to change it, but they didnt stop there, they felt that the whole zone needed changing.

Well those changes drove away all your veterains of the zone, and brung in about 20 noobs who play it everyday compaired to the old days when we had 40 people easily in pub.

Staff say they listen to everyone, but I think they only listen becuase its their jobs, not what they wanna do. 3 people cant decide the fate of this zone alone....

well anyways just had to say it...

Who told you that, delic? The settings weren't changed because they attracted 40 people to pub everyday, they were changed because the public arena was emptied out and everyone was playing rumble and javwar contantly. No-one liked the old pub sets and if they were put up in pub after a couple of weeks you'd be sick of em too. The good ol' days were no different from today, the vets played pub until an event was hosted and the noobs which we have more off today have in some cases become the new vets. When you first came here you were just a noob to me but i don't still say that do i?

Anyway this isn't about old sets, ND seems to agree with me about the spider, it does completely suck. we don't need a ship that once its used up its specials is completely useless to anyone. Also if there is anyone around with x-radar it usually doesn't even get close enough to use those specials.

lol whats with you and bashing every comment I make? Dude this is my opinion, when I first played public had 40+ people easily, yes people went to events and such, they were fun, but a lot of people stayed in pub.

The drop in people started when the new staff was hired and so many people started to get banned for gay !@#$%^&* reasons, then staff changed !@#$%^&* and the zone died for awhile...

We have 20 people tops who play 17th pub now, thats pretty much dead to me... everyone in every other zone hates 17th becuase of different reasons, but all seem to agree that they'll never set foot in pub...

Well thats all I have to say..

Well unless 17th has dropped over the past few days i've been away it seems to have at least a 60 player base dedicated to 17th who come on at various times as well as now at least a healthy 8 vs 8 being common and the population boom on a saturday when a league game is hosted.

Hmmm... ok I don't know you, to this zone I only have a few months experiance yet from all your years of knowledge I assume all you appear to be doing is bashing everything else except what you personally make or put some sort of effort in to.

Would it be an idea to go back your own zone if that is the only thing you are interested in?

Sit back and think before you speak - hearing the constant !@#$%^&*ing about what you hate over and over with the odd sneak of "What I have done is better" is annoying me and no doubt some others :\

Your opinion means !@#$%^&* if it isn't constructive over anything other than your inflatable ego.

Its like being at the fair and you see one of those big mazes, one side for kids and the other (the complex side) for adults... 17th would be the kid side...

I'm not dissing 17th as in I hate it, but I'm trying to let you know what "I" thin the problem is... but like in a goverened society, the little people don't have much of a say in anything...

Continuum is a simple game, it has a set of main objectives and ideas in mind from which each zone does develop upon those. In our case, a mixture of turf flag/soccer based gaming with that addition of killing.

Our gameplay is only as simple as every other zone. 17th requires a different set of fighting skills to say Trench or Chaos yet in terms of skill, well you aren't going in to a huge change.

Our map is more complex than a zones map like Trench yet would you say Chaos had a more advanced map because it's bigger? Or has a wormhole or two?

Players are simple? I'm sorry but does the majority of us shout 'OMFG LAG NEWB WITH LUCK STRAY' like in Trench? Or does the player have to have an arrogant and biggorted approach like they do in Chaos?

Do tell why 17th is more simple than others? Why it only attracts the newbies of continuum?

Is it in terms of our more fast flowing game play which of fighting and objective playing? In that case we don't attract newbs because we don't have all ships dishing out 1 hit kills at a fast rate?

Of maybe it's too do with the 'personal development' of our ships? We don't have a set of constant greening to make our ships better just to fight someone which deters people from playing 17th?

Most people who come into the game will start in the biggest zone for reasons of it being more populated. Means they can learn quicker they hope. They find it is easy to kill - one hit bliss. They come to other zones like 17th and find it requires more skill and time to achieve the kill that gives us more satisfaction in knowing we properly gunned down an enemy. Yet because the idea of easy kills rests in their heads along with this 'newb' idea implanted by half the moron population of Trench, that deters them more when we tell them to shut the !@#$%^&* up after they whine constantly?

Your own statement has just proven how smart you truely are and the ideals you have set out for what you want in a zone.

I ask you one last time - I won't reply anymore to you in this thread. Please sit down and be quiet you !@#$%^&*. Until you can figure out what you saying without laying down contradictions and snap backs to your own ignorance then I don't want to here what your latest idea in the pipeline of development for a better 17th is - especially when you can't understand what the idea of SubSpace/Continuum is.

Upon the note of settings to pernille: I suggest keeping the warbird and weasel, prehaps tweak various other ships. Many seem upset with things like the lack of X cloaked ships now or the lack of terrier players. Prehaps that is where the main focus should be now?

Unless if it was intended to suggest that i somehow play at an inferior level than you then your dead wrong. From what ive seen of the other zones there isnt much there to offer, none of them have attracted me for more than 5 minutes of play time.

Lol why give the lamest pub map and the oldest zone? A fine example, DSB, EG, MG... all those zones pubs are awsome, and very attractive... TW's is just old and the staff there dont see a reason to change it since so many people play there...

Skill changes a lot more in any zone once you move to leagues... 17th doesn't have a pub league, even if it did, SMG couldn't never beat Epion, just becuase of the skill level of people on Epion, I don't care that you've played pub more or not, once you've played SS long enough everything kind of feels easy to you and you learn how to adapt quickly...

Becuase it is a little zone, just like in real life, some people like to start small then move up later... Plus like I said 17th has a easy objective, and (sorry to say, but the truth hurts) easy people to play against. I'm not saying you guys are skilled at what you do, but I can go in there and kill any of you like it was ntohing...

Whats greens got to do with anything? In EG's you can come right out of safety and kill someone who's been greening up in like sec... I dont know what 17th needs to do, but I have a good idea....

Like I said, it depends on certain things, on what a person wants, a big zone/small zone, the theme of the zone, how laggy it is, what type of people play it.... theres lots of things people look for...

To me each zone gives a different skill... TW's gives aim, 17th teaming, DSB dodging, EG's quickness, MG teamwork.... each zone has a lil of all of them but in all teach you one more then the other...

P.S. Do you play the one in the current pub? and I'm not talking about sometimes... Didn't think so, you probably don't like it becuase you see it takes skill to learn now rather then just shoot a lot of blue bombs at target far away...
