Password Trouble

Well. to break the ice, I am a newbie, so I have no idea what I am doing.

 

But every zone I try to log into, I keep getting the message:

 

You have tried to login using wrong password too many times. Please try again in a few hours.

 

I read all the FAQs I could possible gain, and I keep going back to square one. I have tried many different things, different names, different passwords, reinstalling Continuum... nothing works.

 

I would appricate it if someone could clear this up for me. Thanks.

I clicked on Profile, entered my password, then hit JOIN for the zone I wanted to join. And I put the same name as the Profile Name and Player Name is really unique... DarkenedMaster2001... and many others.

If it says you have tried too many times, just wait about 60 seconds, then click join again.

If its a password problem, you need to wait between tries. The server will mistake you for a dos attempt or a brute forcer.

 

Sometimes, it just needs to sit a minute.

The profile name isn't used for logging into the game, it's only purpose is to help you remember which profile is which.

 

Example usage:

 

Since I am sysop of a zone, I login to that zone with a special password and I also use the "auto" field to automatically type something each time I enter. I have named this profile "Alpha" which still uses the player name "Bargeld"

 

When I visit other zones, I have to use my normal password and do not have any use for the "auto" field, so I have a different profile named "Bargeld" which has a different password than my "Alpha" profile, but both have the player name of "Bargeld."

 

Hopefully this has not confused you, it was only meant to illustrate that the Profile name doesn't have any effect on your attempts to login.

 

Now onto the issue at hand...

 

Try this:

make a profile named "Test"

 

Playername: fgujifgibevjugj

password: test

 

login to any of the SSCX Servers (Alpha, Chaos/premier, Dueling Zone, Poweball, etc.) The reason I suggest these zones is because these are reliable servers which are connected to the largest billing server (the Player database.) If it says you have the wrong password, then change the name to some other random combo of letters (I just mash the keyboard a bunch) and then try again. If you can't login after that, then come back here and provide us with some more details, such as the Zone you attempted to enter as well as the exact wording of the error message.

 

If you are able to login to the SSCX zone, try using this same profile in your favorite zone. You do not need to change anything in the profile...simply click on the zone on the main menu, then click play.

 

If you can login with this random name, then you know that the problem with your "DarkenedMaster" names is with those names, perhaps they are already taken. If you are unable to login to your favorite zone using the random name, then try to change it to another random name. If that doesn't work, then there is probably something wrong with the zone in question.
