okay. at first i thought i was lagging was because i was running on a very old computer, but now i just got a new computer for christmas i still lag (trench wars). i've tried having no programs on, disabling firewalls, scanning for spyware/adware/viruses, and removing some graphics options. from all that i just mentioned. im still lagging.

 

(oh btw i use Shaw Cable High Speed Internet. no way you'll find me using 56K. and my high (current/average/high...etc) is always in the thousands... with 0.1% of S2C and 0.0% of C2S)

I think this is related to your ISP though. If you tried everything what has been suggested here before then it can't be your problem.

i wonder if resolution has anything to do with this. the result after changing from 1152x864 to 1024x768 is:

thats not at all bad the numbers you have there. Those ping high are just fluctuations in the transfer rate, its the current and avarage that metter most in my opinion.

yup the lag isn't that bad. I used to have a big high too, but that was because of switching to windows with alt+tab.

 

What kind of lag are you having? People jumping around or something like that?

Everyone lags to some degree. If it isn't stopping you from playing, don't worry about it.

The computer itself (harddrive etc) doesn't make you lag. Just the programs on it. (i.e spyware, MSN etc)

spyware or MSN doesn't make you lag unless you are on a crappy 1k modem connection.

The computer can make you lag if your video card gives you bad fps. However, this isn't really lag but can be experienced as lag though.

What you pasted is not bad lag at all. And you talk of people calling you laggot etc, that's because you play Trench Wars, it's full of trash talkers there (Btw I am a TW player, but not a trash talker ;p).

one more thing i forgot to mention. on my screen it seems like im not lagging but to others that are playing the game also they notice my lag. lol what's up with that? well i dont know

On your screen, everything is local and in real time. You do not see your location and weapons after you have sent them to the server and it sends it back, you simply see it as though it were a single player game.

Go with this, Guest. People will keep you calling a lagger if you haven't got any lag at all.

Only a staff member of the zone you are playing can check your lag and tell you if you are really lagging.
