Miesco Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 For some reason now my bot is all of a sudden not receive kill packets... when someone dies it does not get the kill packet, is there any reason for this that you know of?
50% Packetloss Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Make sure the bot says *relkills 1 , that turns on reliable kill messages. But even then some kills are still missed. Im not sure what causes it but Ive noticed it happening in continuum aswell. Packets are sent unreliably, so there is always a chance that you will miss one entirely.
Dr Brain Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Doesn't sending reliable kill messages mean that they AREN'T sent unreliably? Freedom is the right to be wrong.

★ SOS Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Perhaps the kill radius makes relkills drop out too?
★ Maverick Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 having losing kill packets explains why my duel bot sometimes screws up the score I believe mervbot automatically does *relkills 1 by default. Ewan Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 It's the client, nothing to do with the bot as far as I know. If you play a game where a lot of people are in a tight space (a good example is when ?go boki is hosted in TW) some kills are missed by some clients. If I was to check F2 after javving, my kills might be 90 - 40 but others might see me as having 60 - 35. You always see your own score correctly, and if you re-enter the arena, you will then see everyone's scores correctly. This could be completly unrelated, but I doubt it.
★ SOS Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 Yes, that's true, but MERVbot sets itself to receive all kills, so that problem should be eliminated.
