Darkflare Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 stop trying to show off your computers. you never said anything about having 7
Guest Sharkie Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 (for flag games only) What about destructible walls? and there would be special tiles for flag rooms which are indestructible, but it would take a LOT of bombs to get through walls. Then people would have to watch out for "Drillers" and an attack is sent out to deal with them. Then there comes the possibilty of having a Driller ship, like a ship 9, which doesn't move very fast, clings to walls and makes holes in them, or even a special which, according to settings, can dril for X amount of time... When the flag game finishes, the players are specced and the bot/a member of staff rebuilds to map to default status so another flag game can take place.
mister manners Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 stop trying to show off your computers. you never said anything about having 7never said about seven... did we have a interview i wasnt aware of....?
Aileron Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Heat-Seeking weapons? !? Are you having problems aiming? Also, you need to pay more attention to the ?status values. Those four are SUPPOSED to be the most important upgrades to your ship. The advent of the one shot kill zones (or more specifically the zones where L1s take three shots and L3s take one shot) changed that. Bots are clients (just like vie or continuum). They login to the zone, see player movement/weapons and text, just like a client. Bots control graphics using sysop commands (eg *objon and *objoff). Yeah, I have a question about that. Wouldn't it be just easier to create a sysop name and capture a kid from a third-world country and force him/her to play that name in spec 24/7?

"OBJECT OFF I SAID!!!"
madhaha Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 ... BTW, people don't seem to be giving ship centered lvz's much thought. Please push for them to be implemented. All manner of cool effects await. You could have a small lvz image showing the status of each enemy ship for example.

You could have a small lvz image showing the status of each enemy ship for example. been waiting for them, what? will it rotate as ur ship moves, so if you get a green of super or whatever, the bot displays a green ring round ur thingamajiger, and this would be near impossible, but if there would be a way to find a players exact coords, the bot would have every single tile programmed with a green ring and *objoff *objon, so all layers can see it(not rtecommended for anything under t1 ^^)
madhaha Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 1) You can edit your posts instead of making a new one.2) Ship centered graphics: feature being discussed. Not yet implemented. Hoped to be in the next revision so we don't have to kludge our own solution like you're trying to do.
Guest Big D. Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Desctructible walls and things like that would only create massive lag and might ruin the game (you'll see people going through walls and such). The best and most realistic changes should be made client-side. Here are the two most important things which will make new people wanna play this game: Particle Systems and Alpha Transparency. I've been making some nice explosions, flames, etc. for SS, which look realistic and all, but without real transparency (part of an image getting progressively transparent depending on how dark the color is, for example), I can't make anything which can beat current 3D game graphics. Also, with "real" particle systems, even simple ones (like images flying randomly out of your ship), we could make very nice, detailled explosions, fire, smoke or spark effects and so on, which could make this game look beautiful. That, combined with new, slightly larger (custom-sized) ships would make SS as good-looking or better-looking than most new 2D games. The graphics would only be client-side, so they wouldn't produce any lag, but would only make SS much better-looking, which will make new people not say that it looks like -*BAD WORD*- and they won't play it.
mister manners Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 H. O. L. Y. S. H. I. T. 3 pages while voice recognition it's not the best as you can see I'm trying to say something but it's not quite coming out right actually now it is.
madhaha Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 Go test your crap somewhere else... Destructable doors and burnable/repairable buildings already implemented in Samurai without excessive lag. Particle systems may take some convincing to get it implemented. Ship size can already be altered but larger ships are not very friendly for low res players.
mister manners Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 is it your soul purpose to har!@#$%^&* me and other pplz
Aileron Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 btw, I challenge anyone here to post a picture of my house.

mister manners Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 No one thinks you are as cool as you think you are. You aren't going to win any argument that you start. If you're on AOL, don't worry about anything I've said here. You're already a -*BAD WORD*-ing laughing stock, and there's no hope for you. If you can't take a joke, immediately sell your computer to someone who can. RIGHT NOW. all true too
Smong Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 I think some people have been posting in the wrong thread for a while now.
madhaha Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Offtopic: There have been spy satellites capable of reading number plates for over a decade. Your house would be easy to spot in the right weather conditions.
ballz4ever Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 This is my wishlist for everything I would like to see in future versions of SubSpace / Continuum. Upgradable ShipsLet the players save their points, and then buy upgrades that stay with their ships. Such as...uhh..well, I have no examples right now but such as maybe diffrent versions of each ship. A slower version of a warbird, but it has maybe a look of two guns added on top. That sort of thing. This will make it pretty wierd and defy the original SubSpace, but, its worth a shot in my opinion. ~Kanzure i agree with this. it will allow 'better' players to have a better ship to use. it will further seperate the noobs and the 1337s
