Fluffy White Bunny Posted September 9, 2003 Author Report Posted September 9, 2003 hmmm never saw that before...why doesnt subspacedownloads.com have it =POh well...mine should be simpler to use, especially for people who are new to LVZ. lol i feel like such a biter i seriously knew nothing about k0zy's. It was still fun to make though =)
Mr Ekted Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Why make this app? How does it help someone make an LVZ more than typing THE SAME INFO into a text file. In fact, using notepad is easier than this! IMO, it has to be a visual drag/drop app to be of any more use than notepad.
ExplodyThingy Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 For newbies and pracitce i assume. Practice and experience is great motivation.
Fluffy White Bunny Posted September 9, 2003 Author Report Posted September 9, 2003 Cause I was bored and needed something to do. My prog should make the process of making lvz take less time. Also, it takes awhile to learn how to write and code the ini file correctly, and run it through buildlevel, so my prog should make it easier for newbies. In the next version, I was planning on adding a feature where you could import a .lvl file so you could just drag images to where you want them on the map, but I need to learn how to read the binary data of .lvl's first.
Yupa Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 there's at least one person already working on a map editor that will support drag and drop image placement and lvz / lvl creation
Fluffy White Bunny Posted September 9, 2003 Author Report Posted September 9, 2003 CLE will never be finished
Trained Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 rofl, nice ekted.. I must agree, I wish i knew how to program, and make sht.. I sure could use it when i was bored.. jesus, im bored now, thats why im replying to the forums
Fluffy White Bunny Posted September 9, 2003 Author Report Posted September 9, 2003 why dont you use all that time when you're board to learn how to program =)
Yupa Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 CLE will never be finished wasn't talking about CLE
»ZiGNoTZaG Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 lets add some new features, but then never make a editor worth a -*BAD WORD*- to easily use the stuff in more than just wimpy ways like "scoreboards" or zone "banners"...teehee wont that be funny. and even then, your gonna hve to jump between, notepad, ssme, and calc....oh hahaha....YES YES thats GRAND! might help to have some paper too...SOME PAPER!! haha and a PEN....oh SWEEET SIN isnt that Frocking AWSOME?! sarcasm aside. i may try something lke that (open map to place images, create ini entries) as well. but since im not much of programmer. it would most likely be buggy as -*BAD WORD*- and i would have to covet it
madhaha Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Can you tell us what the -*BAD WORD*- program is and other details please akai?
shazbot Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 SOS's map editor looks like it will be replacing SSME as my top map editor as long as he finishes it Glad to see someone is finally making a serious effort to make a map editor for the cont client.
Smong Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 As well as add/remove buttons how about up/down (maybe even separator), so any final editing by hand looks nice and neat.
»SOS Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 School and one -*BAD WORD*- heavy allergy are slowing me down a lot with my map editor
Mr Ekted Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Why the -*BAD WORD*- should you need to have .NET to run a -*BAD WORD*-ing map utility? Sigh...
Dr Brain Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Guess you aren't on a chat channel with SOS, ekted... He raves about it every chance he gets. Personally, I will never install .net on my computer, no matter how much SOS tries to pretend C# is better than Java.
Yupa Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Why the -*BAD WORD*- should you need to have .NET to run a -*BAD WORD*-ing map utility? Sigh... just so you know, I believe SOS told me he will make it so the .NET stuff will not be needed upon a public release of a finished editor it's not done yet, so I guess he doesn't feel like bothering with that yet chill out, don't assume the world is out to get you

I tried merging my LIE with CLE once, so you can drop images on the map, but without success. k0zy
