Yea, Politics is !@#$%^&* throwing when it comes to to elections, but when the goverment is in effect it all levels down. Then again, thats when foreign affairs come into play and the media starts up the "!@#$%^&* flinging" again.

Btw Kolar, I don't need to write up a pretty little paragraph to get my point across. I state my thesis and move on, I don't need to spend that extra 10 (or 5 if ur some sort of fast typer) mins to organize my thoughts to include things. Better yet, heres the point, I don't care about my grammer and what not when doing a post on an online forum. This an't some college paper that requires big words and figurative language, Ill use slang, occasionally misspell and and do whatever becuase I know who ever reads this will know that thier is their. Basicaly, I don't need this flaming bs with "low organization and articulation skills (ice-demon)". Stay on topic, I would say a bit more but I'm not the type that messes with others to undermind them then laugh like some pimple faced fat guy to gain "online rep", whatever the !@#$%^&* that is (generally speaking).

Anyway, now on topic; Who said I supported the video? I clearly stated that I didn't. And "they" refers to those who stereo type America as some backward country thats !@#$%^&*, not the world, and not canada in specific.

As for the gangs thing, I wasn't looking for somthing to attack, more like to repel more stereotypical bs about the US and its high rates of crime (other countrys have more). I was saying that ALL countrys have crap with their sugar and somehow you interpreted the opposite.

I said I don't mind dealing with people who really don't care about spelling or grammer but when it undermines your ability to convey your thoughts you really should try a little harder.

Why not stay on topic and not bring something completely oblivious to this thread like crime and other social issues. Yes, America has more crime compared to other counties, yes there's more poverity, and no, it isn't getting better. Not my opinion, just a few facts.

I think i'm done saying what I have to say and you're done insurting your opinion and showing utter contempt for anyone who critizes you or people like you. You probably can see the difference between a person who has a problem with a specific matter of state and someone who likes to run around on online forums insulting your country, i'm just not seeing it here.

If I'm understanding you Kolar, you're trying to kindly convey that you don't like America's effect on the rest of the world and in doing so have !@#$%^&*umed that we are naturally going to barricade ourselves into a hopeless mess.

You don't live here, and yes, your opinion is entirely that - your opinion even though you tried to back it by saying it's fact. Surely you understand that that approach here is useless.

If you feel that you need to 'criticize' the US, I'll agree that you're not the only one. But then you are doing exactly what you deny - displaying your political motive by digging up dirt about the USA. Ok, if you want to do that, I will dig up dirt on Canada and it will hurt. Let's stay focused here.

That was the point I was trying to convey indirectly. They say how America sucks and what not when we infact, run the most  international charitys and military aid.
The US has the biggest economy, so I think it is virtually a duty for the US to contribute more aid to the world's poor than other nations. A problem with aid, in general - but especially from the US, are the strings that are attached. And I think we all realise that military aid is often a problem rather than good thing. The US gave military aid to Iraq that helped them gas Iranians, and to the Taliban to keep the Soviets out of Afghanistan. Look where that got us.

As for "denying the fact" I wasn't. I was just stating that we ALL have gang wars in ALL countrys, but since we are the largest and the most "richest" (in terms of economy blablabla) we have considerably more than other countrys in europe.
The level of violence in the US is not a reflection on the country's wealth. It is more a reflection of a tear in the social fabric. I've noticed that many people in the US underestimate the wealth of many European countries. The fact that many are very wealthy and have very low rates of crime and violence should be a lesson. You can't wipe that away by saying "oh well, but our GDP is bigger so nya nya".

and B, I wacth Cnn.

I don't think that supported your argument.

Its the sence that since most of the US's wealth lies in the hands of the few, their is bound to be jelously which causes crime. Not to mention that some of the "rich" live a high profile lifestyle creating a stressfull enviroment. They in turn find relief though drugs such as cocanie and so on. The middle and lower classes in society (determined by amount of $, class lines are easily crossed) imitate them and you can figure out the rest (drug wars ectect)

This also works the other way around for nations with extreme poverty.

As for the B bit, it was to say I don't wacth fox blum.gif

No one believes that Ice-Demon and if they do, they're smoking way too much stuff. There are a lot of social problems which stem from cultural differences and other things but immitation of some rich fat cat isn't something which causes little billy to shoot up his school or do drive bys. Now that we're way off of the stupid !@#$%^&* throwing and USA problems topics, Why do you think there are social problems like this? if it isn't rich !@#$%^&*holes...

The reason for most hate and crime is because of hopelessness. When people feel that their means of fixing a situation has become a hopeless cause, they get violent. It's really not more deep than that unless we're talking about clinically insane people.

I'm speaking in general with culture aside becuase it varies from country to country. Btw, this is wayyy off the canada vs. usa topic now anyways :/.

And kolar, drop the "I think I'm right and your COMPLETELY WRONG" additude like your better then everyone else. Its almost xmas, santa's wacthing.

Speaking of which, what are you guys doing for xmas? Tonight I'm going to nyc to see the BIIIIGG TREEE which i see every year, but its tradition anyways blum.gif .

Well i was asking for the States not crime and hatred in general. I still think it's beyond immitation as you said or believe other people have judged the entire subject.

I don't think i'm right or wrong. I have my own opinons, even though i'm not going to be specific on topic pretaining to your country becasue I've seen where that leads us to, 16 pages of flaming. That line of "people kill each other because they don't have money and I do $$" seems to be very arrogant, insenitive and blind to the true nature of everything wrong within your country. All I had was a problem with the logic of your beliefs and opinions. Believe in what you want but don't try to confuse topics or distort facts, at that point respect is gone and nothing progressive is done here. I'll respect your ability to have opinions, even if they differ but i'm not going to like that or like your opinions.

Money is not necessarily a motivator for crime. Like I said before, when people feel hopeless about their situation, they might turn to whatever means possible to resolve it....sometimes at the painful expense of others.

That doesn't have to be focused around money. Just having someone burden you with their ways, or even peer pressure can cause people to go nuts. Look at the Colombine incident for proof there.

First off, that link didnt work for me so I don't know what the whole blonde lady thing is all about...

I like Canada. The people I've met from there have been really good folks a lot like the people around where I live (not surprising as the state I live in could easily be called South Sasketchewan blum.gif ). Granted, I don't really have any experience with people from the western or eastern parts of Canada much as how I have little contact with Americans from the respective coasts so I can't really comment on any of them. But it is my view that the coasts of the US are just plain f***ed up ;) .

Canada does better than the US in terms of their socialness (sorry can't think of a good word for what I'm thinking of). Anyone can see that just by watching the garbage coming from TV networks especially FOX...I mean "Who's Your Daddy?"? C'mon, let's at least TRY to not appear to be morons (yeah all reality shows suck !@#$%^&*). US does better in things like ag quality control. There's a lot of stuff that each excells at but whats the point in listing a bunch?

Those that just say "USA sucks" get filtered out by me. Those that criticize intelligently will get listened to, I may not agree with you, but I'll respect what you believe as I would hope anyone else does the same. As for crime and gang problems, there is really no problem with that where I'm from...very little crime, if there are gangs they don't have any power cuz they know that everyone else around here won't tolerate that. I don't know if the gang thing is such a problem in the US anymore just because I don't hear much about it as in years past, I could be wrong I just don't know.

Anyways, US and Canada have been close allies and friends for a long time nothing is going to change that.

I didn't read most of the posts so forgive me for repeating anything.

Well the first part of this was on FOX and the second part was on CNN, but Tucker Carlson, the guy who was talking, is actually a Republican. That's what makes CNN moderate, they look at both sides of the issues.

People call CNN liberal, but that is simply because they look critically at the administration rather than parroting it. If the Democratic Party held the presidency, they would look critically at that administration and be looked at as right wing while the other stations would again be parroting the administration.

As for the Fox part, the woman, Anne Coulter, said the worst American's end up going there citing examples of the Torries after the Revolutionary War, the draft dodgers in the Vietnam War, and the blue states after the last presidential election.

Btw, I thought Dr Brain quit the politics forums...twice O_o
