MonteZuma Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 ...AND GOD PUT BUSH UNDER CONTROL OF THE NATION FOR A REASON SO "GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Heh. Funny. There is a fine line between islamic and christian radicalism.
Aileron Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 erm...try to keep religion out of these forums plz...its the only issue that can piss people off faster than politics.
Zeke Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Goddammit! I'm pissed off now! ... ... ... Can we stone Bush? - Z
Sass Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 I think folks in Brussels just tried that.....and that guy from Virginia. Then again, if you want to live in a dark hiding place for life, go for it. I'm sure someone will get your number eventually. And yes, leave religion out since so many can barely agree on politics.
MonteZuma Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 erm...try to keep religion out of these forums plz...its the only issue that can piss people off faster than politics.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Abortion, gay marriage and the war on terror (and the invasion of Iraq) are three (or 4) classic examples of issues where you cannot separate religion and politics. They are meshed together.
Sass Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 rofl! look at that member !@#$%^&*le! nice. (I have avatars and sigs disabled so who knows what those say)
Manus Celer Dei Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 As a suporter of banning gay marriage, I appologize for the previous poster.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's okay, we understand. Stupid does not discriminate.
Paine Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Why is it that some of your best presidents have been !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*inated, yet bush lives on?
Dr Brain Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Washington, Adams, and Regan weren't !@#$%^&*inated. And it's not like people haven't tried for Bush or anything.
Dav Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 i always love these things taring the bible apart. One of my favorits is this. If adam was the first man, and eve made as the first woman. They are not related and thus may marry and have children. The only people on the earth of the next generation are the children of adam and eve and are related thus cannot marry and give rise to the third generation. how do we exist? will clear bible bashers in minutes apparently (never tried it myself) anyway on the topic of gay marrage, i think most of the objection comes from the homophobic. Welcome to the 21st century, its quite sad that people are catigorised in this way still. Their sexual preferance is no reason for discrimination, i have some friends that turned out to be gay but to me that doesnt matter, i dont se them any diffrently because of it so why discriminate them? They shouldnt be married "under god" being as the bible doesnt agree with gay marrage, thats fair enough being as marrage has a religous aspect however something that equils marrage in status and rights should be avalible.
Vile Requiem Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Marriage's religious aspect is highly overrated. It's main purpose, like everything after the Cons!@#$%^&*ution was ratified, is to define in a legal realm a human tradition. It is NOT a catholic tradition. Wiccans, African Tribes, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, lots of religions marry people. Remember, back in the day women had jack and !@#$%^&* for rights if the man decided to dump her !@#$%^&*. We inevitally evolved standards to the point where women have protection and in many cases keep the kids and get half the !@#$%^&*ets. There was also a time when interracial marriage was not permitted by most people, but we got over that (somewhat). Denying gay couples legal rights borders on criminally insane. Why do we not have this? Because Republicans like keeping the South as a voting bloc that they've had almost constant ever since LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act. The south tends to be majorly evangelical and likes this sort of thing. They also seem to think that people want to marry box turtles. If your legislator (Rick Santorium, R-PA) seems to think that people want to marry box turtles, perhaps you should consider this person as insane and elect another person to his seat . However, this man is a leading Republican candidate for the Republican Nomination in 2008. People know how much I dislike Bush, but dear god, even HE doesn't think people marry box turtles if you give them a chance. (PS: I do realize that some people MIGHT want to marry box turtles. These people have serious mental handicaps and can be helped by medication and asylums.)
themissinglink Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 OK U SAID KEEP RELIGON OUT OF THIS FORUM THEN WTF WUZ THE LETTER TO GOD!!
Zeke Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 We elected a man to run a country, we did not elect a man to speak the word of God to us. As I recall, that was the Messiahs job... and Bush is no messiah to anyone but those who he's helping to bankroll. This thread just shows how outdated and how far from reality the Bible has become in 2000 years. I once heard that even Julius Caesar was killed by Brutus because he was dumped. It's something that's around and as soon as people realize that it's a human tendancy, the better off we'd be. - Z
themissinglink Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 well god said the nations would depart from the word and reject its consul
Dr Brain Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Dav, how is denying men from marrying men discrimination against gays? We don't let straigts marry same sex, either. Sexual preference doesn't enter into it at all. About the Adam and Eve thing: Obviously their children married. Zeke: That just shows how little you know. No one thinks of Bush as a messiah. Previous presidents quoted the bible far more than presidents do today. Vile: The concept of marriage has only one purpose in human society, It's for the conception and raising of children. Allowing gays to participate makes no sense. "If the parts don't fit, you can't commit"
Dav Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Dav, how is denying men from marrying men discrimination against gays? We don't let straigts marry same sex, either. Sexual preference doesn't enter into it at all. Strights dont want to marry same sex though do they? it is still descrimination. Vile: The concept of marriage has only one purpose in human society, It's for the conception and raising of children. Allowing gays to participate makes no sense. i agree with you there, however i think they should be able to have something equivilant that allowes them to have the rights of married couples.
Slawsauge Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 not allowing men to marry men disiminates against anyone who wants to marry same sex.(gay or hetro) there is a pretty large tax break for married couples. has anyone ever tried to buy as house a single man (or woman), i did, and its a piece of crap. if i had two incomes at the time(legaly binding incomes), id be living like a fat cat. you cant tell a loan officer your baby momma's gonna help foot the morgage.
