Sharvoke Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Can anyone please help me with this? I have been tryign to understand how to make a zone, i do not know anything yet. Do i need any programs like Paintshop Pro to make the maos and stuff. There is funky html or some computer language i do not understand, im probably overly-helpless and it can;t be answered without an "I can't help you, sorry"
Dav Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 i strongly suggest getting some experiance in a zone doing some dev first, its the best way to learn. You dont really need to know any hard languages, you can do it without paint shop pro but without experiance settings, mapping e.t.c can be hard.

micro machine war Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 how much bandwidth would it use from my server if i put in on there?
»Maverick Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 good question. Downloads of a single client doesn't go above 30 kb/s. Playing of a single client also doesn't go above around 30 kb/s (but way lower). Multiply this by the number of clients / players going to play your zone. Maybe someone knows the exact answer to this?
Smong Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Depending on the settings I would imagine 100-200 bytes per second from each player. What the sevrver sends them depends on what's happening. Lots of nearby players shooting then you could take that 200 bytes and multiply it by all the other players. I don't think it goes more than 20kb/s (downloading).
PoLiX Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 It's all on the settings. DBZ avgs about 25 people peak, and uses more bandwidth then DSB which peaks at 120avg. It depends on the amount of action going on. The more bombs, bullets, etc. that can be fired in a fast rate raises the amount of data needed to be sent, there by increasing the amount of bandwidth. A new zone as of late will avg probably 100gbs MAX a month.
Chambahs Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 doesnt ASSS use less bandwidth and stuff? or was it more...i cant remember..
Yupa Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 ASSS was actually designed for this game (subgame was designed for VIE's client and the one used with Continuum is severly hacked). ASSS also easily works on operating systems worth using as servers.
Chambahs Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Why arent you on ICQ? newb i need to talk to you
