ddaL Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 HI, i recenly got a new graphics card ( a Radeon 9200 256mb card) and when i go into safes( and in zones like red star) i get terrible fps of around 15-25fpswhen im normally out of the safe and playing, i get about 60-80fps (which is fine) any ways i can inprove my fps? current ram size: about 512mbNormal res size in ss 2048 x 1536 x 32 @ 60 hz in full screen (i tryed lower res, same problem)i have enabled "show default resolutions", "no framerate limit" and "avoid page flipping"in advanced options, still very bad fps. now any way i can solve this problem, or have i just got a !@#$%^&*ty graphic card? (even though the mobility radeon 7500 on my laptop gets alot better fps) any tips on how i can inprove this? Quote

Dav Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 no chance of there being a bottle neck there anywhere, i often find my FPS drops around safe zones, you can fix the problem by running in windowed (i get up to 200 fps on a 64meg card) but windowed sucks. Quote
ddaL Posted December 3, 2004 Author Report Posted December 3, 2004 i tryed it in windows mode, sadly i still get very bad fps, only way i can get the fps in safe above 30fps is when im in windows useing 512 x 384 x 32. Quote
ddaL Posted December 3, 2004 Author Report Posted December 3, 2004 hmm, just reinstalled the drivers, still the same problem. Quote
Bargeld Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 At the game main menu, go to options, then go to the graphics tab. Set color depth to 8 (bit). If that doesn't work, try these: update directX get older drivers run a 2d benchmark test to see if it is broken or working properly Quote
