At 17thparallel.com we have a vote running about the team evener:Do you prefer a team evener in pub? The result of this poll will have effect of the team evener in pub. So vote, vote, vote! The vote will run for 2 weeks exactly going in from today. So it will close on 8 december 2004. You can see the results yourself so on 8 december we will see if we still have the team evener. -MMaverick

Isnt that why we made the team evener in the first place? so players with high bounties wouldnt get screwed over and get randomly switched? you people are impossible to pleaze.. kill something or gtfo if you dont want to be switched.

If all the players on a freq quit at once, noone will be switched... And it also disallows changing freq manually if it unevens the teams too much

But anyway, I don't think we need that kind of bot... Uneven teams get evened 'naturally' usually very (whoah, 3 adverbs?) fast. And if there's an URGENT need to re-even, the staff could switch people manually ; and they could use their judgement to not switch high-bounty people.

But some people prefer to buy stuff right after they die when the bot already announced it is going to even someone . Without the bot, the uneven teams get evened by putting new people on the team with the lowest amount of players. This is what you call 'naturally' probably and this is not fast, this is one of the slowest method. About staff evening people; only upperstaff can do that because some harmfull commands are disallowed for "lower" staff. So evening by staff is also out of the question.

I tried many weeks of testing my code to see if I could get it not to switch a guy with bounce, and it just plain didn't happen. So as I say, my bot coding is rusty but I couldn't get it to read bounce.
»Maverick Posted November 26, 2004 Author Report Posted November 26, 2004 Indeed NBVegita (hiya! ), I believe some ship (correct me if Im wrong) also tried to check whether a player has bounce or not, but it seemed that it just wasn't possible in Mervbot. If you look in-game - how do you estimate that someone has bounce? It isn't greened, it is ?buy'ed what no other client can see. You can only see by the type of bullets the player shoots. Something a bot can't do.
