I think it would be nice to have a feature whereby you can stop your ship fully with one key, usually if tou try in most zones you find you still have a little momentum.

Or make it so sideways motion gets zero'ed on very low speeds with this key

You could drop a portal, go to safe zone, stop yourself, port..

or bribe a mod to warp you to where you want to go

and I believe there's a zone (or subarena) somewhere which makes thrusting (default - shift) remove all the ship's momentum

but we are talking about is something client-side. People should be able to stop without any help from outside, or via a special and in all arenas

I think that the thrusters technique is a well done and easy option for this. Why? Because SVS is all about a spaceship that conforms to some standards. If you want to make something non-standard, then you'll have to mess with the settings. It is the SubSpace way afterall...

im sure it would add to the tactical play, beople slow themselvs to an almost complete strop anyway but a feature that cpould do this will be a nice addition to the game.

put it this way, I shoot where your going, STOP! bullets go straight past, you fly off somwhere else, same happens again, STOP! Everyone would be virtually unkillable.

Agreed. There is no reason for anybody to need to be able to be completely stopped. Plus, if you're skilled, you can stop yourself anyway in every zone I've been in.

the stop would be gradual, just like when slowing with thrusters. The ting id like to see is the ability to stop the ship completly rather then have that touch of left over movmnet when you try and stop yourself.
