Aileron Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Bin Laden was safe until Clinton exited the White House thanks to a Republican congress that screamed "Wag The Dog" when he did so much as launch missles at the guy (The obsession with Clinton's Penis...oh how that chapter in our history sucked, pun intended). This subsequently made any invasion of Afganistan impossible until 9/11 because, well, Clinton never started a unilateral war or one without Congress's approval, which is what would have to have been done. The ONLY reason Bin Laden became a threat to Republicans/Bush is 9/11.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, Bush SOOOO went into Iraq without Congress' approval...maybe he should have gotten their vote on it. You do have a point though...Clinton could never have rallied an attack on Afghanistan. Monte...that news story is more real than half the stuff you subscribe to. Dav, now you are just being pessimistic. Tracking someone from the air is easy once you spotted them.

The stipulations were that he go before the UN and try to get their support...but it broke down to the point that France would veto any decision we made - even another pointless resolution. He fulfilled his end of the IWR.
