Kilo Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 At least our average IQ has gone up significantly.
»Maverick Posted October 30, 2004 Author Report Posted October 30, 2004 ...your point being...?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Figure it out...
FunkmastaD Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Everyone is aware of the sharp population drop, there is no need to rub it in the face of the few players that still consistantly chat in spec mode.
Kilo Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 And the newbies who still come and enjoy their time playing.
KoTD Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Well to get the pop up again, I have 2 ideas of some things to do:1) ADVERTISE HYPERSPACE MORE!!! (not only in game, but possibly on websites like sshq if possible)2) Host more events Btw think people, what was the main reason those 40 some people left?As far as I can remember it was the server change, someone remind me of why HS changed servers...o.O
KoTD Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Really? From what I can remember, bots brought in about 3-4x more pop...o.o
chocko_cc Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 are you serious 90-120 i don't believe you i wish someone came around my time to play with me theres an average of 1-3 people on -_-
JoWie Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 are you serious 90-120 i don't believe you i wish someone came around my time to play with me theres an average of 1-3 people on -_-<{POST_SNAPBACK}> actually it was only 60 ppl, 2 publics The pop was so high because the bots crashed so much... ppl are playing, the bot crashes, they wait till its back up in an other zone so basicly at the end they play longer and tell other ppl to come...
Dr Brain Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 We never got 60 players at any point, ever.
»D1st0rt Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I think it was like 53 or something that we had
EdTheInvincible Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 yup.. 20 of it were my aliases
Dr Brain Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Official max was 54 with the 7ish bots. Actual max was 57.
JoWie Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Official max was 54 with the 7ish bots. Actual max was 57.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> ok then i was 3 or 6 of.. ><
Gravitron Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Just for my twisted pleasure, I'm going to create a HyperSpace of my own("recreate" would be a wrong word) on a far superior engine. It will be a space action-RPG zone, which will render this one as to appear dull & dim. Here's for a kick down the limited continuum / bugged ASSS groin.
chocko_cc Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Woo I want to see how this will turn out
Dr Brain Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I'm not bored enough to write a long reply to this, but I do have enough time to write this: 1. Good luck, you'll need it.2. I think you're lying. You told me 1 month ago exactly what you said here. That's some fairily amazing progress being made! Also, at the time, you refused to divulge any details. This leads me to the conclusion that you're a liar.3. "On a far superior engine" meaning Infantry, I'm sure. EDIT: It's Hyperspace, not HyperSpace.
Gravitron Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Luck? Don't need it, just time. Thanks for keeping dates darling, time sure flies when one is having fun.Sorry, but I have been very bussy with my original zone which is twice as complex, development does take time you know. But worry now sugar, coming week I'll commence work on the zone. You want details?BLISS is coming Q2 '06.And that's all that you need to know.Besides, what kind of details do you need? If you're half the game designer you style yourself to be, you already all that there's needed to know about the zone itself. Maybe it is, but you said no one can make zones on it, so I see no need for you to worry about. Then again, maybe it will be another engine, time will tell. I prefer Hyper-Space more, has...dignity to it.
Dr Brain Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I'm glad you're taking the name anyway. If the zone is any good, I get to take all of the credit. If it's bad, I get to deny any relationship with it. EDIT: WAIT! Q2 '06? It's gonna take you more than a year to finish? LOL. Hyperspace, as it is, took about 4 months of work. Half of that was duplication of effort when we changed platforms.
Gravitron Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 You might recall your own game itself (SS) is double-capitalized. As for your reply, your reading comprehension is lacking.I've said that BLISS is coming Q2 '06, or much sooner according to my !@#$%^&*ociates, not the HyperSpace zone.I simply like to draw deadlines, as not to keep things floating in air (and due to people inquiring for one) and I felt that this one would be the best (most generous in time-providing terms, as we're NOT limited on time and could have an alpha that ran for a year) guestimate of how long it would take to get to where I want it at. The zone I'm making (will commence the actual development in three hours or so) is going to be ready VERY much sooner.Depends on how much time I'm going to have daily (I am working full time for a living) it can draw anywhere from a month (for intial playability flow) to a half year (almost completely done*).Also, do not attempt to make any !@#$%^&*esments or estimates on it and all relating to it, depending on your own zone as a common dominator, it is not going to be quite like it and neither is the development process similar nor is the featurable content (which of course will be doubled if not tripled). As such, you are also unable to take credits in it, so it will be a futile attempt to try.Unless, for some odd reason, I decide to include you in the designing process.Which I deem unlikely seeing as how you have nothing to contribute, gameplay design, settings - content or map/level design wise. *Pertaining to online games, one is never done and finished.Balancing always need take place even for the slightest of tinkerings and content/features can always be added/modified/removed.Bugs which never seen before pop-up and are to be rectified.Etc.The meaning is that, however, the game is enjoyable, playability is vast and flowing, the stability is mostly reliable and so forth.

We use Continuum, as you are so fond of pointing out all the time. You're the one making it easy by using my name. If my zone is so bad, why are you copying it? They say imitation is the highest form of praise.

One.The game is called SubSpace, concieved and designed by Rod Humble & Jeff Petersen, your crap of a client is called continued!@#$%^&* and was made by two hacks. Two.They might be right, but this situation would not prove it, since as I've said before, I am NOT copying your zone. While at that, it is not that much of an original idea to even begin with.It is just simply one form of RPG in space, just because you have been the first to have managed to !@#$%^&*emble together the bot code to do it, does not mean that you are the first to have made up the idea.I could make a pacman zone, but could I take credit for the design? hardly. Then again, I am not a pompus presumptionus scriptkiddie. You're the one making it easy by using my name.Excuse me?YOUR name?HyperSpace is a public domain, last I have checked and a well known scientific term, don't be a yankee and steal credits for things you have not done. *looks at his avatar* dr. "brain" indeed...
