Stylez Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 17th Parallel Public League Created By: Joker0430/420 "a.k.a. Stylez" -General Idea-The basis behind this event will be "of course" the Veitnam War. It will be made up of two frequency's(Veitcongs/USA>. Those two freq's will then be split up futher into two more teams, thus having a total of 4groups all together. Each group will be either basing or balling during their tournament. (Quick reference) Basing: North and South bases are what I like to call the Headquaters for both teams and the flaqs within them are radar becons that give points (currency) for how ever long you can keep up contact with them. Balling: Most popular of 17th Parallel is the ball game. This is what I would call Getting Supplies. What I mean by that is simply getting the ball "supplies" to your supplies station "east or west base" and in return you earn points (currency). So the general idea of it all will be to earn as many points as possible, the freq with the most pointsat the end of the tournament will be the victors. Also the kill/death ratio's will also have a part to play inthis. My main goal here is not only to rejuvenate the population of the zone but also bring a meaning to it. If we'regoing to call it The 17th Parallel, lets try and actually keep to the plot of the original theme. -Rules-1) The 17th parallel league will be made up of two freq's "squads", those two freq's "squads" will have two factions. One faction will either choose to ball or base for the entire tournament for their freq, unless that player is swapped out or switched around , this will be handled by the event ref, please notify him/her if you do want a player switched around. 2> The middle area of the arena is the "kill zone or jungle", anyone can be killed there by whomever would want to kill you. So be careful... 3) If you are picked to be either a baser or baller you have to keep to that position. ex. If you're picked to be a baser you have to stick to only basing, you may not enter the east or west bases at anytime during the match, if you are caught doing just that, your freq will be pentalized for it. Same goes for the ballers. The only exception to this rule is of course killing someone that is in the kill zone. 4> You may not enter into the safety zones with the ball on you, if you are caught doing this your freq will be pentalized for it. Also if your a baser and you come into possesion of the ball, you most get rid of it right away, if you are caught carrying it around and you are a baser, your freq "you guessed it" will be pentalized for it. 5> Each team may only have a minimum of up to 10 players and a maximum of up to 20 players. There has to be atleast 5 or more people per event . It doesn't matter if there are 5 people on one freq that base only and 15 that ball, it is up to that freq "squad" to choose how they want to set their teams up. 6> There will only be a max limit of up to 5 swap outs during the entire match. If there is any need for more, the captain/co-captain of that freq "squad" will have to message the event ref and explain why they need to swap a player and it is then up to the event ref to decide if it is ok to do so. 7> If there is any signs of favortism by the refs of the event then that team will have to message a Mod or Sysop that is around and ask to have that event ref swapped out. 8> If there is any signs of someone cheating or just being plain out re-*BAD WORD*-ed, the event refs and powers to be will take care of them. 9> Players put into the arena will have to move to their starting points (they are placed on the map, you'll see them if you look) immediatly. If you are seen killing someone more then once before the match starts or wandering off somewhere other then your starting point, you will be removed from the game and wont be able to play, no questions asked. 10> Each team will have to atleast have one of each ship being used throught the entire tournament. So it doesn't matter if there are thirteen javs and only one of each of the seven different ships being used as long as your freq has all eight ships being used. 11> A set time limit will be given for each match, there will be two matches played and the best freq out of the two matches will be the victors. 12> More of an update then a rule. Just remember to look for network tunnels to use for quick access into a base. end----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats a idea i've been thinkin up for awhile, it'll be different from any other zones leagues and it'll help 17th out by making more people recruit lots of people thus makin the zone bigger. I've got a map made for it, if 17th staff would put it up for me, i'll tell you all later what arena it is in, but until then, tell me what you think of the concept... Thanks,Stylez Quote

Delic Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Wow someone mentions Vietnam! That's good. This idea of yours is very very similar to the one I had.. a lot of similarities hehe.I think it's a well made map but I don't like it.I don't like it because having 2 totally different games in one pub map will only unbalance the gameplay. This would suck in pub because everyone would be doing whatever they want, so either neither one of the games would have enough players to keep it fun, or one game would never be used, and since 17th is all balling, the unusued game would probably be the flag game. The Maurauder Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 rather off topic, but i had an idea of making a vietnam-style pub map, and it was shot down... meh Quote
Samapico Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 rather off topic, but i had an idea of making a vietnam-style pub map, and it was shot down... meh<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alot of us had the idea... surely before you... I remember that huge helicopter with machine guns and rockets.... Quote
Emblazon Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 huge helicopter, machine guns, rockets... sounds like fun to me :/ Quote
Samapico Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 [clarify]rockets as in... BOOM... not the ones that boost you... i mean... the 'tab' kind of rockets.. not the 'f3' one... [/clarify] Quote
Emblazon Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 that sounded really dumb, to be honest Quote
Yupa Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 pub league should use....THE PUBLIC MAP and yes, of course there should be one - there should've been one long a-freaking-go Quote
Samapico Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 that sounded really dumb, to be honest<{POST_SNAPBACK}> was intentional Quote
Rixsta Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Yeah i agree about the whole pub league, using the actual map, not a tournament, just week in week out fixtures and league table's. It doesnt have to be major, just something that people can enjoy and utilize the practice that they get everyday from playing pub. In many respects it should be more compe-*BAD WORD*-ive than most other tournaments and leagues because poeple play it every day, the difference between squads will wont be so big like in Jav tournaments and leagues and should make for more interesting compe-*BAD WORD*-ion. I whole-heartedly would be behind a pub league, !@#$%^&* id even set it up myself. It'd also be interesting to see who actually would be classed as a good baller after a league. It also would probably generate more new public squads, its rare that people create new pub squads because there is no point to it. and surely that can only help the zone develop. Anyway thats my 10pence worth. Quote
Rishadan Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Beats the -*BAD WORD*- out of the current Pub league. Quote
