Lag issues

Well i recently burned my working continuum from my home computer to a cd and installed it here at my dorm. The program itself works with all my former names and banners etc..but after i download the zone for the first time, everyone just jumps around spiking and i cannot enter and after i exit i see Red pings. When i first start SS the pings are green and some yellow though, and tracing just shows '...' under the numbers..anyone have any solutions?

There a are many factors that contribute to it one being living in a dorm you have more traffic in the area if your on a cable modem thats is and if its a lan its laggy also. Combine those with the recent router outages all over the US due to some dumb -*BAD WORD*- that likes to make worms and whaaa laaa you have lots of lag.

the bigger the lan the bigger the lan, i have a similar problem here at university, not alot can be done except play late when most are asleep. (not reccomended if you have 9am lectures)
