»SOS Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 Read the FAQ on connection problems. If that does not help, tell if you can see the zone pings and download the server list. Quote
Guest Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I also have that problem and yes I can download the server list. For me, it happens when I try to enter any zone. Quote
»SOS Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 Well, call your ISP's tech support. Maybe they might be able to help. Ask if they have any odd limits on UDP packets. Quote

Guest Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 that happened to me 2...i got that lotza times....its so annoying...>.<I just cant connect to server....my internet connections perfect but grrrrrrrr...... Quote
Bargeld Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Oddly, when you have a username which starts with a character that is NOT alphanumeric (letters or numbers) then you receive a "Connection to Server lost" message. If you repeatedly receive this message and are sure that you are able to ping the zone just fine, then chances are that you need to adjust the login name in your profile (NOT the profile name, because it has no effect on logging into a server.)Â http://www.ssforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=651 Quote
madhaha Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Its not a bug its a feature. With really bad warning messages Quote
Guest Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 ok, well, killer gerbil is my login name Quote
ExplodyThingy Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Killer Gerbil: You said that there is a router somewhere not responding to pings. Try calling your ISP's techsupport, there is obviously a problem somewhere. Everyone else: Post more details. "It just doesnt work" is not enough. Remember that "Bad password" and "Lost server" are very diferent errors. If you lose the server every now and then, dont worry about it. If it happens only when you connect to certain zones, theres a problem, but not much you have any control of. If it happens to them all, run traces, see that everything works. If you have an alternate ISP, (such as an old dialup) use it and see if it works. Quote
Guest killer gerbil Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 i here everybody talkin about "call your ISP."ive never done it before , how do you do it? Quote
madhaha Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Your ISP is the company that sells you your internet connection. They should have a tech support number (it might cost you a lot of money but you should have worried about that before you signed up). Call them and then tell them there is router that isn't responding (give its IP address). They should take it from there. Quote
Guest killer gerbil Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 but the port that isnt responding to ping dosent have an IP adress. it just has three little dots. :? Quote
Fluffy White Bunny Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Call up your isp, they can trace your computer from their servers, and help you from there. If you dont wanna call or dont know how, visit your ISP's website and see if they have live help chat. I know comcast does, and I've found it to be very helpful in the past. Quote
Guest killer gerbil Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 i have charter pipeline. should i try there website? Quote
madhaha Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Yes. Whats the worse that can happen? Other than a huge phonebill and you accidentally upsetting thier staff causing them to terminate your account and rack up large bills on your credit card details and.... and... etc. Quote
Guest killer gerbil Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 ok, how would my ISP know about subspace? Quote
Fluffy White Bunny Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Tell them you suspect a problem with a router and ask them to trace the connection to your computer and/or give you another route. Quote
