Omerta Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 I have a betgear prosafe wireless firewall which has blocked out any chance of me getting continuum. Basically what it does is it blocks any internet site with the word Continuum anywhere in the name. How do i stop that? Secondly when i attempt to install .38, using the ss install 27, it says while checking for internet connection that it cannot find the "supported repository". Help appreciated. Omerta.
Bargeld Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 There's not much you can do about the firewall, unless you have administrative access to it, or know someone who does. Use the full "client version of the installer.
Omerta Posted September 6, 2004 Author Report Posted September 6, 2004 Where can i find that? and i do have administrative power
Bargeld Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 if you don't know whether you have administrative access to the router, then you probably don't. You can find the full "client" installer on the same page:http://www.sscentral.com/c/?c=playnow&s=index
Omerta Posted September 7, 2004 Author Report Posted September 7, 2004 Ok, i THINK i have access to the router, i just dont know where it is. :S Also, when i go to download the client installer-"there is no configured website at this address" Confuddling!
Bargeld Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 use this: http://beginners.subspace.net/downloads/continuum.exe
Omerta Posted September 8, 2004 Author Report Posted September 8, 2004 I can't use the above link because it has continuum in the address. Thats why i need to know how to access the router, or find a way to open the "supported repository". I have access to my dad's laptop (i figured out his password) so i can get to the router, but i dont know how. If you can give me a tip that would be appreciated. Access is there, but i dont know where to access. Cheers, Omerta
Bargeld Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 open internet explorer and go to: http://192.168.0.1/ if asked for a username and password, and you don't know it, try leaving the username field blank/empty and enter the password as: admin
Omerta Posted September 8, 2004 Author Report Posted September 8, 2004 "401 Unauthorised" So the router cant be !@#$%^&*ociated with a program? -*BAD WORD*-. Is is all on the internet? Im on his laptop now, and all i can see for it is the print server, which I know is not it. Was that my last option? Thanks.
Dav Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 prehaps you should ask somone you know has admin access to the routher to unblock it for you. Either that or type in http://192.168.0.1 and enter the username as admin and leave the password blank (other way round to bargelds suggestion). Also, what router do you have, if you know it would be a great help if the previous suggestion doesnt work.
Omerta Posted September 8, 2004 Author Report Posted September 8, 2004 OK, neither work. THe router is : Netgear prosafe wireless firewall/print server model fm114p thanks
»ZiGNoTZaG Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 just go to the netgear website and dl a pdf of the manual and see how you access its html menus. type in that address, if it asks for a password, type in what it says in the manual. if it then says access denied, then the person who has control of the router needs to change it or give you access. which you would have allready done if it was possible.
Omerta Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 could someone send me the installer over msn? the latest version? from the website i cant access (!@#$%^&*uming that is different to SSWeb installer 0.27 klazy@hotmail.com. thanks.
Bargeld Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Isn't it 192.168.1.1 ?It will say in the manual what the default ip is for the router, and the default login and password.
Bargeld Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 the manual: ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/netgear...4P_RefGuide.pdf
