Kill9mm Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 We are in need of some additional audio macros. They are: Game OverFreq 0 WinsFreq 1 WinsMove Out!Gogogo!Enemy Ahead!Fighters neededHeavy Weapons neededCloakers neededAttach! We would preferably like it to sound like the existing macros, but if that can't be done its not a huge deal. Please contact me in game, and respond here with any questions. Quote
The Maurauder Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Why do you think we need more soundsd? nobody uses the ones we have. Besides its just something else that people have to download, and especially to new 17th players, it will drive them away. Quote
Kill9mm Posted August 15, 2004 Author Report Posted August 15, 2004 Someone delete Maur's post? Quote
DaKillaRoach Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Sounds aren't needed. SS sounds suck. I mute the sounds because they are a complete waste of time. If people want to know something, tell em it, don't use some crappy sound that people can spam into your computer. If I want msome fancy noises I will go out and buy some techno junk. Listen to proper (rock) music; it helps you concentrate Quote

Kill9mm Posted August 16, 2004 Author Report Posted August 16, 2004 Seriously I need someone who can do this! Quote

»Maverick Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 I disagree with you Maurauder. Players do use the sounds. Not as often, but the sounds are not totally known by everyone.I do like them because it tend to notify more people when you scream for help with %152 then without it. -MMaverick Quote

More people would probably use them if they were better-publicized. Quote
Yupa Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 all of them are located at A1...and most people don't see A1 all that much It's also just an lvz-included image with no mark of its existence on the map itself. Quote
Samapico Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 It should be shown near the center, with those useless top scores the bot shows... ( I say useless cause the way that the bot counts the goals/kills/etc is stupid It only adds up kills if one gets 'most kills' and all that, which doesn't make much sense...) Oh, and while I'm whining about the bot... What I dont like is when the other team wins, and you can't see your own score... !stats gives 0-0-0-0-0-0 cause the game just ended :/ I think it should at least PM you your own stats of the game when a game ends Quote
The Maurauder Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Like i said sounds are all fine and dandy, but most people wouldnt want to download them, if you add them, they should be optional download only. Quote

Game over, freq0/1 wins ; the bot spams enough stuff at the end of the game to notice that it's over Move Out! --- well, there's already 'Fall back!' Gogogo! --- would be nice (or Attack!!!, or something like that)Enemy ahead! --- there's already 'Enemy sighted!' Fighter/Heavy weapons/cloakers needed --- can be included in the 'I need backup' category Attach! --- 'I need backup' works fine As most said, you need to keep the download size small; but add-ons once in a while would only involve small downloads once in a while for everyone who already has downloaded the zone. And there is no need for tons of additionnal sounds, 2-4 more could add some fun, but more would be kinda useless Quote
GhettoSmurf Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 what ever happened to teamspeak? Quote
Samapico Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 teamspeak (or teamchat.. whatever) involves having a microphone, wanting to setup the program for voicechat (even if it is suposed to be easy i guess) and wanting to get your bandwidth flood with voice, and also involves that you have to have the program to hear the others... % bong sounds are much more easy to use and more reliable Quote
candygirl Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Microsoft has something you can use to talk by way of mic.Its used for games so playes can talk to each other. It looks like a big mouse with a mic...errr i think Microsoft makes it. I will see if i can find that link. Quote
candygirl Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Have you guys tryed Voice Over IP software? Quote

But it still would be nice to see your own stats after the game ends when you are on losing side Quote
BeWaRe Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 I could have sworn that it used to do that. It displayed a 'Your Personal Statistics' line after each game. No one else remember it, or am I just trippin out? Quote
