Yet another Ship Settings... thread

Hmm, the same debate? Well i'll add a little input.

 

17th Parallel was my first zone i tried, and i truthfully loved it because of the diversity, even more so than that of infantry which i gave up on after it became p2p.

 

I tried a few other zones but they were too much the same ships or not fast enough paced (Trench for example!)

 

I used to loved the old settings because of the specilized ships, everything had a purpose and a meaning, everything was set for something special. It was because it was based on Viet Nam prehaps?

The Javelin was your infantry man, the terrier was your command jeep, Lancaster? short range bomber, weasel was the missile carrier etc! All these workings to make it something special made the zone fun.

Now sure its pop was low, but with that low pop came great fun, lil skirmishes and battles around the map providing fast flowing ball games and everyone used to be all happy

 

Now when they changed the settings i hated them at first! couldnt stand em. But then i spent a week on em, and started to like it. The jav has become killable (slightly), the lancaster is much more fun to play as although its too predictable in all but the most skillful of hands now, the weasel, even if i like the old weasel, has become a better version although it seems like a small jav now :-s

 

We need to get that specilization we had before but keep the majority of the new settings, prehaps blend in a bit of old setting goodness? Levis with fast bombs but slow turns was fun, the spider with stronger bursts coz it was fun to die to something so weak yet had some nasties on it etc.

 

Dont bring back the old jav and weasel, allocate a specilized setting for the shark and generally get a good theme going again like it used to be!

 

17th Parallel used to be something different, unfortunatly it has lost a little something along the way but i still return to it time and time again. Something to me is missing, something prehaps large or even small needs to be tweaked or fiddeled with, to remind me of the special feel this zone used to have compared to so many others.
