Dr Brain Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 1. A player may not injure a staff member or, through inaction, allow a staff member to come to harm. 2. A player must obey orders given it by staff members except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A player must protect his/her own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
Dr Brain Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 I read it first. Movie doesn't use the three laws in the same way. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
Fat Cat Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Bah I don't read anything unless I'm forced to :swift:
Dr Brain Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 Wow. I've read 3 1/2 books this month, and I'll be finished the last one by the end of the month. I, RobotPrelude to FoundationFoundation1/2 of Foundation and Empire Freedom is the right to be wrong.
Dr Brain Posted August 18, 2004 Author Report Posted August 18, 2004 Deleted a meaningless post. Yes, I finished Foundation and Empire. It was ok. Finished Second Foundation. Very good. So far, my favorite Foundation book. I'm about half done Foundation's Edge. Very good so far. Has the potential to be the best Foundation book. Of course, It has plenty of time to flop, too. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
Grelminar Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 I thought the last two (Foundation's Edge, and Foundation and Earth) were probably the best, not so much for their characters or style, but for the sheer coolness of the ideas he put in them. Of course, ideas are the only reason to read Asimov in the first place, so you'll probably like them.
