Aileron Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 Finally, a good source of information. But, still, I need website to start a boycott.
Bacchus Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Maybe it's just me, but how much do you trust the average american's values as being good for everyone else? not at all.
Aileron Posted July 24, 2004 Author Report Posted July 24, 2004 ugh - a Dominican, a Brit, and a Canadian are discussing what "average American values" are on the DOMESTIC side. This should be be interesting. Face it, Bush's only major flaw is Iraq. His domestic policy is pretty good for the situation, hence why nintendo64 couldn't criticise him without using the terms "imperialism" and "diplomacy". Both words are exclusive to foreign policy. Oh, and "average American values" are good for Americans, and you can't dispute that. Whether or not they are good for the rest of the world is outside the scope of this topic. I would just like to point out the sub!@#$%^&*le to this topic one more time: NO FOREIGN POLITICS!!!
A Soldier Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I'll simply say this: shouldn't Iraq itself be an excellent reason to note vote for him? Why would you vote for Bush? What good has he done to you or your country? So far, everything I read and heard from the Repulican party were attacks on Kerry....
MonteZuma Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Oh, and as a Catholic, I support the Pope not backing Kerry. We are making ONE major political stance, of which we can make many. We could make an official fuss about gay marriage, but we don't. Heck, the Catholic Church could make a religious stance against Muslims if we wanted to (although that would definetly be extremist and backwards.) The point is, that the Catholic Church is making only one political stance on abortion. If Kerry can't support that one stance, he really has no business in our religion. In this world, one hand washes the other. If Bush makes effort to help the Church, and Kerry does all he can to destroy the Church, why should the Church support Kerry?Sorry...can't help myself.....I need to flog this dead horse a bit more... The pope was against the war on Iraq. The pope and theerfore the catholic church favoured a diplomatic resolution using the United Nations. Clearly Bush is not 'helping the church'. Sounds like a double standard to me. If you are a catholic and yet you support GWB and the invasion of Iraq then apparently you have more faith in GWB than you do in your God - or at least more faith in GWB than in your religion. How do you sleep at night if you really believe that if you don't support the pope's views then you have 'no business' in the religion?
