Delic Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Download isn't working for me. About which map, I think it's obvious that the map we play in everyday should be the one for league, or people will have to get used to a new map all over again. Quote
»Maverick Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I agree with Delic. I put the rules on league.17thparallel.com under Downloads and updated the news. -MMaverick Quote
Delic Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I read the rules.. The points system could be simplified, why not just make it 2 points per kills and -1 per death? It's the exact same thing but less big numbers. And why give bonus points to 8 teams? Only the first 3 teams should receive bonus points in my opinion.. Quote
Thrawn Posted July 16, 2004 Author Report Posted July 16, 2004 Yeah, you're right about the kills and deaths...it is the same thing... Well, in my opinion a squad is more motivated to play when they see they have some points than when they see they have like 0 points...:/ I could be wrong, but that's what I think. Quote
Samapico Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Let's think about that and have a crazy cheerful happy dance around the dining table. ... that just went through my mind.. had to say it... Quote
Delic Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 There wouldn't be any glory in winning if everybody won... I say only give bonus points to the first 3 teams.. Quote
SeVeR Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Some squads may not even be good enough to get a 1:2 ratio. They need to win some points just for showing up or they'll stop showing up altogether. Squads could end up with minus scores otherwise which isn't nice. Quote
Delic Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 What keeps a squad together isn't the results in a league really. If a squad stops showing up and dissolves because they didn't get points or even get minus points, it means that the squad is unstable and will die sooner or later anyways. Quote

SeVeR Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Squads can be very stable and not be good at rumble delic. If they're not good at rumble and end up with embar!@#$%^&*ing minus scores they might leave rumble because they think it is rubbish and not because they dissolved. We wouldn't want that now would we. Leagues aren't just for the elite they're for everyone to enjoy. So ahah! I WIN GG OWNZT! Quote

See' date=' if they leave rumble because they suck at it, then there's no strength in the squad, no will, no stability, it's a weak squad that would dissolve sooner or later anyway. That's my point, not that squads can't be stable and not be good at rumble, I didn't say that ;D We wouldn't want that now would we. Leagues aren't just for the elite they're for everyone to enjoy. So ahah! I WIN GG OWNZT! PSH, we were all nubis once, it's the nubis who have patience and don't give up after getting poaned 20 times a day who become elites, eventually =P I WIN. Where's my medal. Quote
SeVeR Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Hmm well we both have different points of view that could both be right. I'm with the view that there are some very stable squads that just suck at rumble and it'd be wrong for them to end up with minus scores because they're up against elite players in other squads that rumble every day Quote
Hece Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Hey jim, wasupp? u been playing more now?btw if you still use my chat i invited tool to it also.if veen playing 17th 2 days now just for fun cos im banned from dsb atm, not sure if im gonna get active though. Btw what is it with the rumble maps now? they just keep getting worse and worse skillwise, lots of tiny camping/laming places are the worst for fair 2v2 fights. do people really want this event to be a laming/vulching contest?they look cool allright but that shouldnt be the main objective, simplicity is beauty in games like this. look at fujins map for example, its very simple but it has the best semi closed fighting places in this zone, just perfect for fights. -Hece Quote

I say squads should earn the points they receive in RRL. If they want to get more points then they'll have to play more rumble to get better at it. Quote
SeVeR Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 I still play but i haven't got a connection i can use for games yet. I might get active again in about 5-6 weeks. Fujin's map was the best but its too small now, maybe they should enlarge it. Yeah i'm still on your chat but it'll be a while before i go online, is tool back now? SeraForeva! lol how'd you get :muhah: in dsb? Delic you're right but so am i, there needs to be something in the middle with more points going to the top 3 teams and smaller amounts for the rest.. like 150,100,75,50,40,30,20,10 and no points for anyone lower. Not sure what it is now as i can't play rrl and won't be reading the rules Quote
Naedhaha Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 I have decided to make a rule change in the RRL rules as after reviewing the 2 matches i decided it would be better. So Instead of having to start with a full 4 players a squad can now start a match with 2 players. However late entries are still not aloud. Quote
