Dr Brain Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 Lol, some people just don't get it. Yesterday or the day before, some person asked me when the next reset was. Immediatly, half the zone population FREAKS. "OMG! They reset stuff here?" "I'm quitting!" you get the idea. So I say not soon, because I had no plans to reset. I then get about 5 PMs asking when I'm going to reset. >.< I get spammed in public chat asking why I have to reset. Ok, even if I had an exact date that I knew I was going to reset on, I would tell *no one*. Not even staff. Can you imagine the flashbang -*BAD WORD*-? That being said, we reset about every 3-4 months. It's been about... 3 months or so. While I do indeed have no plans for a reset, one in about a month will probably happen. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
FunkmastaD Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 Wow...how many times have we had to do this lol...All zones like this have to reset every so often to level the playing field.Starting over isn't the end of the world...I mean it really isn't that tough to get a semi decent ship started within a few hours of playing. Don't fear the reaper and Don't fear the reset. The more the light shines through meI pretend to close my eyes. The more the dark consumes meI pretend I'm burning bright.
★ D1st0rt Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Its actually kinda fun, everyone flies around in sharks and you can see who the ppl with real skill are _UU___UU__SSSSS____AAA____UU___UU__SSSSS____AAA____UU___UU_SS_______AAAAA___UU___UU_SS_______AAAAA___UU___UU__SSSSS__AA___AA__UU___UU__SSSSS__AA___AA__UU___UU______SS_AAAAAAA__UU___UU______SS_AAAAAAA___UUUUU___SSSSS_AA____AA___UUUUU___SSSSS_AA____AAJ.C. Dr Brain Posted July 15, 2004 Author Report Posted July 15, 2004 3 more newbies messaged me about a reset today. All of them trying to convince me not to do it, under the impression that it was happening "sometime soon." All they do is move the reset into my active memory, where it's more likely to get done. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
FunkmastaD Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Yes...again I had to deal with an entire arena of 25+ people talking about a possible reset.Paranoid and annoyed the money starts to burn in thor storms, flashbangs, super, shields, arena msg and bricks.Although if you all burn your money and Doc doesn't reset for another month or 2 you guys will be poor and laughed at for being afraid of a reset. The more the light shines through meI pretend to close my eyes. The more the dark consumes meI pretend I'm burning bright.
★ D1st0rt Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 It's like a friggin run on the bank... _UU___UU__SSSSS____AAA____UU___UU__SSSSS____AAA____UU___UU_SS_______AAAAA___UU___UU_SS_______AAAAA___UU___UU__SSSSS__AA___AA__UU___UU__SSSSS__AA___AA__UU___UU______SS_AAAAAAA__UU___UU______SS_AAAAAAA___UUUUU___SSSSS_AA____AA___UUUUU___SSSSS_AA____AAJ.C. FunkmastaD Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Honestly I'm starting to think that the pop would actually increase with a reset in the near future. It's so dead right now...I mean people are actually begging for a reset now.It would certainly give the people something to do...a purpose while playing. But I believe that the initial money needs to be increased to 5000 so people have a better selection of ship choice at the start and if they choose a wb or jav they can use the extra 4.5k to get started and buy stuff. The more the light shines through meI pretend to close my eyes. The more the dark consumes meI pretend I'm burning bright.
Dr Brain Posted July 21, 2004 Author Report Posted July 21, 2004 Wiped. No more annoying newbies asking when. Now there will be 10x as many newbies asking why. Err... why was this a good idea again? Freedom is the right to be wrong.
FunkmastaD Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 This was a good idea because the pop tripled and it was fun to play again The more the light shines through meI pretend to close my eyes. The more the dark consumes meI pretend I'm burning bright.
nikegurl637 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 You reset?!...man I'm going to SUCK when I come back. Bomook> lol there's always a good quote for a sig when nike's around
