★ Dav Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Try to tturn down your resolution and see what that does. If that does not work try: View -> Options Click the graphics tab Turn colour depth down to 8bit If this does not work post again and ill give you some more suggestions. If it does work please post and let us know SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
Guest nopcode Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I had this too, on WIN XP using newest nvidia drivers for Geforce FX funnily enough setting colour depth to 8bit made it far far worse. Setting to 16 made it super smooth again. Im not very tech minded, but I dont think XP has support for less than 16bit colour, so possibly new nvidia drivers dont directly support it for XP? Only wierd thing is, the colour depth always defaults to 8bit so i have to change it for every restart, possibly set somewhere in my profiles i guess. Other than that, maybe run it in compatibility mode (if u have xp that is) and choose 256 colours?
Guest nopcode Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 oh scratch that about compatibility mode, causes a nice crash on startup
Himura Kenshin Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 ok well go to view>advanced options make sure you check aviod page flippy, no frame limit, and disable clippign and it shoul dbe good. http://vip.shadow-realm.org/fh/data/ksig.png
Guest nopcode Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 u know i did that stuff u said about page flip etc, didnt work, only thing that did was the change colour depth to 16bit. i mean cmon, even the old tnt gpu's handled 16bit colour really well.
