DaKillaRoach Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 (( Normally I catch on quickly to whats happening RP wise - far too experianced for my own good but alot of what I've read seems to be coming in rags and tags. Oh well; won't join in now, too late. Someone sends me a cute PM when a new one starts suppose I might join in )) Quote
Greased_Lightning Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Tern sees the Uber's fall into 17th and the nanobots expansion...seeing that there is nothing more he can do here with the station under nanobot control, he sets coordinates in the portalling system for the nearest TDI facility.... (Time elapses) He enters a remote sector in the fringes between the major empires. The system is devoid of life or any valueable resources and is plagued by high radiation and sensor ghosts. However, only some of these are ghosts... Hidden amongst the space debris circling the unstable star of this 15 planet system is an outpost of TDI completely cloaked. The outpost is located at a precise position that reflects and modifies all sensor returns. Tern pilots to a predetermined set of coordinates and sets down on what appears to be nothing. Soon his ship disappears as the doors to the cloaked station shut. Tern climbs down from his ship and stands for identification by TDI security personel. Satisfied for now, they lead him down a corridor weapons at ready. DNA, retinal scan, voice check, and numerous codes and questions positively ID him as Cmdr. Jake Rease. As Rease is just finishing getting his uniform on, another officer enters... Captain Hurd of TDI. "Well Commander, we received your report about 17th and the nanorobots. We have also learned of further fighting all across the region." The Captain then goes into details about the SE incursions into Terran space and other empires. "Apparently 17th was not the main objective, merely a feint. These nanorobots have been able to withstand all attempts at resistance. Even the EMP bombs have had limited effect, and ultrasonic vibrations dont seem to work on some. This dilemma may be much more dire than we had expected.""Sir, In the cargo hold of that ship are some deactivated nanobots from the 17th attackers. Perhaps we can reprogram them for our own use against the others..." Rease and Hurd continue discussing this and send the nanorobots to R&D facilities for immediate study and reprogramming.... Quote
Aileron Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 The SE meeting brought new clarity to their plan. The fleet split up, a small portion towards each target. Then, Ailius would infiltrate the government caves on planet Ithkul. After he poisoned the life support systems, the fleets would bombard their targets, and their collective fire would make the planets uninhabitable. Then, they would send signals to the dormant Gehenna to block the Ithkul fleet. The SE would then consolidate themselves and make and decide whether to make an escape or occupy Ithkul territory. As they made their way towards their targets, Ailius had his bionanobot altered. With severe modifications, he made himself almost immune to both EMP damage and Ultrasound emmitters. However, it was at such great cost that it could not be added to the Gehenna. Quote
Greased_Lightning Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 TDI Research has finally finished reprogramming nanorobots for action against the Gehenna. As a test, they release the modified ones against a ship kept offline infected with the Gehenna...within minutes, the nanobots either destroyed or reprogrammed the SE nanobots. Most importantly, systems retaken by these ones then are proven immune to further nanobot infiltration. The newly modified ones are constructing new ones from raw materials at an astonishing rate. These new nanobots will then be sent out on high speed transports to various sectors to combat the Gehenna. Tern prepares to head back to 17th Station with the new nanobots. Quote
Aileron Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Ailius' bots were now reprogrammed to incredible durability. They were now immune to ultrasonic and EMP. To augment his shapeshifting abilities, all bots were directly linked to his brain. This allowed more direct control in positioning of the bots, which allowed Ailius to move them around however he liked. The side effect of this was that now the bots could not be reprogrammed. After leaving the lab, he headed down to his ship's comm system. There, SE hackers were at work hacking into everything they could on the Ithkul capitol. "I've got the employment records!""Hmmm...long list. I'm going to need to impersonate somebody working at or around the life support." The hacker inputed some information, and the list was narrowed to about a dozen. "I'm also going to need a weapon, and no doubt they will scan for any I would carry. How many of these are security guards?""Just one, Natalie Starscraper""What the? A top government facility and all they have guarding it is one guard?""Apparently""And what kind of genetic engineer would use a female for a soldier?""She's not genetically enhanced, sir. It says so right here.""What the heck? Where are the uber-enhanced ex-commandoes wielding fusion cannons and gatling guns? You must have the wrong list!""Hmm...there are many of those types on the list of guards. I guess no one bothers to protect the life support since they terraformed the planet. After all, no hostile fleet has been close to here in a couple centuries.""Apparently not. Alright, I'll grab one of our small transports and head to the planet." With that Ail got in a normal Warbird and headed to planet Ithkul. Quote
Greased_Lightning Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Tern nears 17th Station when he receives a message from TDI outpost."Agent 1-9-0 Alpha Echo 7 acknowledging...""Commander, further information being relayed on the modified nanobots. Additional modifications include the addition of more sophisticated program defense which makes them impervious to corruption by unauthorized units. Also, if a nanobot fails in its primary mission of reprogramming, it will physically destroy the offending nanobot. They have also been installed with a failsafe to avoid attacking life forms.""Good to know sir, Rease out." 'Tern' finally reaches 17th station where the nanobots have nearly overrun defenders. He fires a pod of modified nanobots into a landing bay where it immediately opens and begins reconfiguring the nanobots on the ground. Those that resist are destroyed...The nanobots move quickly and soon the Gehenna bots are on the defensive themselves. Quote
Aileron Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 The Gehenna sent an encoded transmission to the SE regarding the new anti-Gehenna. The SE then attempted to send a transmission to Ailius. "Shutup, fool! I'm under radio silence!" The SE scientists proceeded without Ailius' instruction. They sent orders to the Gehenna. If the new bots were to attempt to reprogram any Gehenna bot, the Gehenna bot would self destruct, destroying the anti-Gehenna bot in the process. Thus, the anti-Gehenna must be equal in m!@#$%^&* to the Gehenna infestation to win. This would be enough to hold the anti-Gehenna back - for now. In the meantime, a handfull of Gehenna cloaking ships was sent to hide in deep space. That way, if the Gehenna was wiped out, they could spread themselves afterwards. Also, a handfull of refugee ships heading towards Terran space were infected with the dormant varient of the Gehenna. The SE still had to hurry, but they were waiting on Ailius' operation, and he was under radio silence. Fortunately, he was still trying to get this operation done quickly. [OOC-Sorry for the creappy post, but I decided that my character hasn't been evil enough]Ailius was waiting just accrossed the street from the Ithkul Government center, when he finally saw the person he was looking for. Miss Starscraper was leaving and heading home. Ailius stalked her. She didn't notice, because he changed his face several times, and wore a grey suit which was practically the uniform in the capital. She walked to a nearby apartment building. She climbed to a room on the third floor and unlocked the door. Just then, Ailius ran up behind her and covered her mouth with his hand. He pulled out an aerosol can and sprayed it into her face. She dropped unconcious. He dragged her into her apartment and closed the door. He stopped and listened for a moment to see if her neighbors heard him. A minute of silence indicated they were not even home. He then looked down at his victim. She was cuter than the picture showed - pity that he had to kill her. He took a syringe out of a container and injected it into her arm. She died in a fraction of a second. He then proceeded to drag her to her kitchen, away from the window. He was carrying a reasonably large suitcase, which he had left outside in the struggle. He quickly grabbed it and brought it inside. Inside the suitcase was a wide collection of surgical equipment, as well as a miniature poison gas tank hooked to a remote detonator. He turned to the surgical equipment. He took out a cutting device, and proceeded to cut his victi'ms skull open, exposing her brain. He then turned to another device, some kind of cable. One end was inserted directly into the back of Ailius' head. The other was attached to the woman's brain. It transferred several of her memories directly into Ailius' brain. This gave him knowledge of the center's security. Entrance required a hand scan, a retina scan, and a password. Ailius had the password, but his bionanobot abilities couldn't even fool the scanners into thinking he was human. Ailius then began something truly sick. Taking his cutting tool, he began to carefully undress, then skin her. After carefully removing her bones, muscles, and organs, he set the poison gas tank inside the empty s-*BAD WORD*-. Then, he poured into the skin like water in a glass and bionanobots made the seams invisible. "Natalie" put on her clothes and headed back to the government center. Quote
Greased_Lightning Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 [OOC - Ailiius getting off on that? lol... eat her liver] The anti-Gehenna run into trouble as the Gehenna begin self destructing. They change strategy to use the destructed Gehenna and destroyed anti-Gehenna to reconstruct new ones to further attack the Gehenna. Therefore, for every Gehenna destroyed, another anti-Gehenna is formed for the mission. Within a very short span of time, 17th Station is completely secured.'Tern' lands his ship on 17th landing pad and surveys the damage. He then removed a control pad from his ship and orders the anti-Gehenna to converge in on location and go into dormancy. Suddenly his ship beeps as a message is incoming from TDI.After security procedures, the message states: 'Communication burst from Gehenna on 17th Station intercepted and tracked to reception point. Further transmission from this point to planet Ithkul. Reprogramming orders came from comm relay point. Message content as follow: "Shutup, fool! I'm under radio silence!" Voice analysis inconclusive but the fact that the signal came from Ithkul is troubling. Unlikely that Ithkul is responsible for the attacks as they are also under duress. Report any new developments. END MESSAGE''Tern' grunts and proceeds to the 17th Bar A.K.A. command station to check on the situation. Quote
Aileron Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 [OOC-Well, you can't really walk down the street chewing on some girl's liver. Sorry. Besides, I can't type much more than this. ] The fake Natalie walked to the government center. While most of the center was underground caves, the years of constant decoration made it look like the center of Ithkul government that it was. Just in the lobby was one of the security doors that gave access to the non-civilian areas of the caves. As Natalie's memories stated, there was a password, retina scan, and eye scan. Just inside, some security guards questioned why she was coming in after her shift. "I forgot my personal organizer" The fake travelled undesturbed to the life support system. There was a few unarmed technical staff. Fortunately, Natalie's sidearm happened to be silent. The fake merely drew the sidearm and blasted the technicians. The fake shut the door, then regurgitated the tank of poison gas, a couple tools, and some instructions. [OOC-How to Corrupt a Government Life-Support System, it even includes nice color illustrations. ] It took a few minutes to complete. Then, the fake left by the way he/she came in. He/she walked down the street to the warbird Ailius he had stashed there earlier. First Ailius set the autopilot to leave orbit, and disguarded poor Natalie's skin. "Alright its planted, all units proceed.""Sir, while you were gone, somebody built something to counter the Gehenna.""Hmmm, this was a little sooner than expected, but they were never going to last forever anyway. I'm releasing the gas now." The gas valve was opened. However, the life support was offline, so it didn't spread. "Alright sir, beginning bombardment now." The SE ships began their attack run. There were small garrison fleets surrounding each of the target planets. However, the ships were small and manned by the inexperienced. They were destroyed quickly. The SE fleet started to bombard the planets. At this time the main Ithkul fleet was contacted. They were heading towards the central planets, when suddenly almost every civilian ship and colony on radar became Gehenna. The dormant Gehenna in Ithkul territory had been ordered to go active, making a barrier between the Ithkul fleet and the SE. The Ithkul attacked the Gehenna, but had no chance of reaching the SE in time. On the planets, civilians were scrambling to whatever transport they could find. The evacuation was haphazard, and most of the time all they could do was take off to fall victim to the SE Wyverns above. A little over 60% of the Ithkul civilians escaped. Most of the government officials had gone to their caves. There was communication equipment there, and they scrambled to see what was going on and how to stop it. However, by this time the bombardment was damaging the atmosphere, so the cave was shield, and the automatic life support system activated. Then, the gas that had been installed filled the installation, destroying virtually all the Ithkul government. By the time Ailius returned to his flagship, all of the target planets were inhabitable. The SE did not quite get the casualties they had hoped, but the death toll was still in the trillians. There was great celebration onboard the SE ships. Revenge had finally been theres. The fleet regrouped and got ready for their escape. Quote
