Hiding both balls in the flagging base should be considered grief play and a warnable / bannable offense. Are you all completely insane?

You -*BAD WORD*- and -*BAD WORD*- about zone population and then do everything in your power to make life a living -*BAD WORD*- for any noob that wanders into the zone.

I'm talking about all of you: Shrop, Bomook, VampZ, Ed, all of you should know better. It doesn't even make any sense, let's examine the reasons for hiding / not hiding the balls:

Reasons for:

1. It's a perverse, re-*BAD WORD*-ed thing to do. I know since even an entire freq full of newbies have no chance of retreiving the balls, I can sit back and whack off to the knowledge of how much better I am than them, simply because I've been playing longer.

Reasons against:

1. It has a direct impact on zone population.

2. SEE #1. Are you really all that STUPID?

K, Thanks,

Cereb

i agree that it sucks to hide the ball, i kow that if im on a flag freq ill give the balls back after they have been used for safer removal.

It is lame but i doubt it will be make punnishable.

That can end up causing problems dav, say nobody scored in like, you said 3 mins and got the ball and were carrying it to goal, the ball would be warped FROM them and they wouldnt be able to score.

and yes, as cere says basing the powerballs does do 2 things:

1) It lowers that teams JP because nobody has a chance of getting the balls so they dont attack.

and

2)If they cant get the balls, they leave.

I say make basing BOTH balls illigal. Just basing 1 ball wouldnt be bad, unless they were guarding it outside of base.

thats is the prob. I think staff should reset the balls if they are based to make it more newb friendly.

I know funk does but do other staff?

You see, people are under the misconception that basing the ball raises the jackpot. They think that it will cause people to go into their base trying to get the ball, and will be killed. HOWEVER, the ballers know they won't be able to get the ball, so most of the time they just go into spec until the flag game is over, or they go to another arena/zone. If you leave the balls out, the jackpot goes up because a lot of killing goes on around the goal. THEREFORE, basing the balls is probably one of the worst things you can do to increase the jackpot, and any reasonably not stupid flagging team will realize to not do it. Thank you.

I had to read that three times to comprehend what you are trying to say Distort. Whatever.

Anyway, isn't it possible for a ball to spawn in a base? Can a module or w/e you call them be made to stop balls from being stuck in a base for more than a minute?

BTW, the ball reward isn't much, but the pop likes to play around that goal are in the center region. It's fun - especially when you have no squad or team to play on.

Arena msg : Remove the balls from your current base or you will be punished. Thank you -Power_P

30 seconds later (if nothing is being done)

?warpto 5 5 on all base freq.

Do it the PP way you fools

I did the "PP way" before to dbe's freq while he was interupting my balling game laugh.gif he was unimpressed lol...like I cared...

i think although effective, its a little over the top.

Simply removing the balls by resetting them is quite enough.

Yeah and then they take balls back to base and it just starts over and over and over..

Its like that song that never ends...yes it goes on..and..

Anyways, Gravi does bring and interesting point to the table and I for one agree with the brilliance of this menish woman. Net ban the sucker and may it prove a lesson to the rest.

If after 11 seconds ( NOT 1 SECOND MORE) the ball is still in base, net ban the rest of the freq. Also net ban Char, lan and buffy...they started it all

My thoughts exactly.

Instead of warping the ball after a certain period of time if is not scored, just write the module so that it may not spawn or p!@#$%^&* into certain regions, mainly bases. Unfortunately, I'm only starting to write bots/modules of my own, so I have no idea how hard this would actually be, if it's even possible.

From ball physics and mechanics, I'm pretty sure there is no way to stop the ball after it's been spawned. You could just set the ball spawn point to specific areas, but we want people to have to crawl into bases and get them (hopefully empty bases). So, ball spawn is the entire map. I'm sure that's going to be slightly different in the new map. Now, returning to the ball passing, the only way to restrict a ball from going in a place is by restricting any projectile or vehicle from coming in. I suppose if a lot of work is done, a module could be made to counteract my previous statement, but it's probably more work than it is worth.

Nope, HZ scrim bots steal the ball away and move it around all of the time. It's entirely possible to make someone carrying the ball into the base drop it or otherwise be moved.

Char, maybe it's easy for you to slip by people, but I doubt you can successfully against a team of 5 all by yourself all of the time, even with shields. By the way, many of us can't afford shields.
