Sync. Out of Range

Sometimes when I try to enter an arena, I get a black screen with a red and blue box bouncing around which reads "Sync. Out of Range." I have no idea what this means. Eventually, maybe a few days later it will go away.

The oddest part is that I can tell I'm actually playing, because when I use the arrow keys I can hear my engines, and when I shoot I can hear that. I can even hear myself getting blown up or running into things, and all the keyboard commands still work. Pretty much, everything is normal except there are no graphics, and I can't see what's going on.

Does anyone know what this is or why? It doesn't look like a windows error... My computer runs XP with a Pentium III on DSL and normally has no problems. Help!

Frequency out of Range = Refresh rate is too high.

My monitor does this too. Here's the fix:

Right click your desktop, choose properties.

On the top right hit Settings.

On the bottom right, click Advanced.

First, check the settings for Adapter, and lower the refresh rate to 60, if possible.

Depending on your video card, you may have to change the refresh rate in a different place under the advanced area (try the tabs other than adapter.)

Come back if it doesn't work, and remember... target refresh rate is 60 (or possibly lower is you have an LCD monitor.)
