Dav Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 i got this high packet loss...it continues keep me in spectaor mode by saying that my packet is too high for the game. which zone are you playing? are you on a router?
freaky Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 Usually when there is high packet loss, I will turn off my firewall(if you have one). Do you have a firewall?
Guest hicks04 Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 i have this problem too.... i'm guessing it has to do with me using a wireless router oh well =x
Bargeld Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 i'm guessing it has to do with me using a wireless routeryes.
Dav Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 i suggest you try playing closer to your wireless router or access point for better signal streangth or just using an ethernet connection.
Guest Guest Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 i have a problem with this to but only in Trench wars and 17thParallel anyone help me?
candygirl Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 routers suck! There no god for gaming online.
Dav Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 i have a problem with this to but only in Trench wars and 17thParallel anyone help me?ok, do you have a firewall or router? - Candy: Routers are ok but they need to be configured first. Once thats done they are fine. I use a router with firewall and a wirewall on my PC and have no problems at all. It often depends on the router you use as well and how strict the security is set.
Guest omgjeremy0 Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 yea...i think that i may have a firewall...on this network computer at the libaray. and i dont think that i can turn it off....any suggestions? ~it happens only for trenchwars....
Dav Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 Well if your using a computer in a libary they will put security restriction in to stop you doing things you shouldnt. It will be similar to the Playing at school Im surprised to can get continuum on a libary comuther to begin with. The packet loss is probably related to their network and the router which you cant do anything about.
»SOS Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 A firewall or a router will stop any connections to the game when it does want to stop you, it will never cause packetloss unless it's really scrwed up. Do a trace with at least 50 cycles to a zone that has problems and then export&paste it here.

Bargeld Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 GoldenOrb: I deleted the thread in bug reporting and I will repeat my answer: Sounds like a temporary thing, just give it a couple days to fix itself. My main reason for saying that is because you have 0% ploss to your router (192.168.0.1) which means that you can't change anything on your PC to fix anything... everything works fine out to the router. Anything beyond your router means that the problem is out of your control, unless you feel like calling your ISP and complaining to them.
