Yeah, i agree the swearing has gotten out of control, but i think they should only fine if they are being racist or severe cussing. repetative cussing should be a fine and kick. Seriously, its kinda a bandwagon... you cuss in stuff in real life (don't lie staff, its true blum.gif ) and then you punish other people like you for it =/ Yeah i understand if there are little kids and stuff playing, then its just common sense not to swear. I think they should loosen up just a little, and let a few slide.

By the way, the limited to repetative swearing means only ban if they keep spamming swearing.

I hope this clears things up lol...but I know it won't

Myself and the other mods should be the only ones enforcing a no swearing rule. Although you are only trying to help, and its appreciated, it is not needed. In life yes I'll admit I swear, and I do it a whole lot, a WHOLE lot, mostly when dealing with some of the more troublesome players in HS smile.gif. I only warn when someone says racist remarks, repeated swears in 1 or more lines, or says anything worse in my opinion to F***. You can say -*BAD WORD*-, crap, -*BAD WORD*- and I won't care. Doc wants to try to keep the swearing down so we hope you can respect that choice and type without swearing.

As to what happens when ya start to really swear:

First time I'm gonna ?warn you.

Second time I'm gonna ?warn you, give you a 5 min silence, and give you a small fine.

Third time I'm going to ?warn again with a much more angry msg, double the silence and the fine.

Fourth time I'm going to ?warn and I'll be angry, fine 2x again and ?kick.

By this point I hope you have paid attention smile.gif but just incase losing a good chunk of time and money didn't get it through your head to stop and you come back from your ?kick and continue to swear then you just get ?ban 'd I don't need to ?warn anymore

This is very simple and straightforward

I'd say use only when necessary, but I will bring up an interesting point many people fail to realize. Church and Elementary School aren't the only kinds of places where swearing is extremely looked down upon. Many people seem to think that as you get older, it's plain natural, but in many cases, it isn't. Many businesses forbid the use of foul language, specifically when within the presence of a lady, but that's a different story. A colleague of mine actually lost all priviledges to earn promotions and raises because he cussed in front of the secretary. I'll admit, I swear, but rarely in public.

Personally, I like how only severe words are modded, these days. What I don't like are all the players who sign on and call others on -*BAD WORD*-, -*BAD WORD*-, and others like them. You know, minor curses. The mods don't call on them, and you guys aren't even mods to begin with. This zone could serve to train people to tone down their language, but not if everyone and their brother goes around making a fool of themselves warning others about words that aren't even called upon.

The fee is $10000 in HS for my services.

Happy doing business with you

I think swearing should be allowed, as long as it's not directed at someone.

Something like "f***ing wall" would be allowed but not "you f***ing *****"...

That's what the rule on swearing was in the game I played before Hyperspace. But their rules were way too strict anyway. For example they didn't allow you to call people "noobs", and you could be banned if an admin determined it was in a "derogatory" way.

Considering the view I see of most of HS, I'm surprised to see so many votes for "Ban swearing all together".

me too, i personally have no problem with moderate levels.

mmm...MULTIPLE SIGNONS! blum.gif

In all honesty though, let's be serious...if one cuss is gonna drive you insane, you need to do one of the following:

a) loosen up. You're so tight that if I stuck a piece of coal up your -*BAD WORD*-, i'd get a diamond...TY FERRIS

B) go shoot yourself and stop playing online games. Go back into your -*BAD WORD*-ing attic w/ your single player games pleez. Thx.

This is the only zone I know where people get away w/ speedhack and other third party programs, but get penalized for innocent swaring...I mean...WTF...let's get our priorities straight here.

In protest to the gay!@#$%^&* rule, we should all get on sns on heeb-x, where x is a number and SPAM public chat w/ the casual "-*BAD WORD*-". UNDERCOVER PROTEST :( ...HARHAR...btw, don't actual do that you dense heebs.

SIGH, WHY IN THE -*BAD WORD*- OF THE GOD DAM WORLD IS B) a -*BAD WORD*-ing smiley...GAY AS YOUR MOMS

i actually agree with hsx on that... i mean seriously, it makes more people want to cuss if there is a rule against it. if there werent a rule, i bet less people would cuss... im not joking, think about it.

Adding another mod's input... I do what exactly what Funk does. Stuff less than F*** I pardon. It's not like you're warned for saying... "OMG you -*BAD WORD*-." or even "stfu". I think we're pretty relaxed for a "no swearing" rule. And the rule keeps out immature little people that have no self control, who generally say "OWNED, GG, NEWB" etc after every kill. Those people are annoying. >_>

Well, i think everything is fine as it is and nothin should be changed as long as mods do their job to keep the chat clean. And, like NiKe said, the staff is pretty relaxed about the no swearing rule and enforce when needed.
