I'll add my 2 cents here. I like the map with the flags at the bases. I haven't had much time to spend on the new settings. I have only flown the Lanc(about the only thing I ever fly) I like the ability to lay a mine(maybe to get a jav off my tail:) and pickn' up the repel was neat(been so long since I've repeled I almost forgot how). Not sure about the ability to upgrade guns with ball though.... well

Points out a few things smile.gif

 

- The map is now good. We didn't need north base. Told you it was a good idea to bring flags into west and west

 

- The terrier is as far as I know still the current sets

 

- We NEEDED this new weasel. The current one we were running (Don't refer it too old, its not old. Old weasel was instant kill bombs) was far too out of place and in the hands of a lagger (suprisingly most laggers used this ship!) it is near impossible to kill -.-'

 

- I ain't sure about the greening, especially having to green a repel for the lancaster when it already feels quite bulky in movement but thats just me. I'm used to dodging in the lancaster which in these sets you cant really do anymore.

 

- The new weasel r0xx0r5 and so I've given up my Lancaster (Because I don't like either the TET one or the current one - only old skool lanc) and now am inclind to play the TET weasel if I ever come back.

 

- I do agree upon the spider burst being stupid. Lets hype it up in speed

 

- The current settings we run are boring and placid. Lets get the TET in because it provices a nice change, a good run of game play, an even number of compe!@#$%^&*ion for all ships

Hi this is Kwisatz - I like the flags being in west + east v good move indeed!

 

About the ships that havent changed - jav and shark - nothing wrong there.

 

Now the changes i will give u problems as a terrier player only. In previous sets the kill was more reliant on personal skill, not ship having obvious advantages over another....unfortunately the new sets are restricting this somewhat.

 

For example - warbird v terrier - old sets the terrier had bomb rate + speed advantage, while warbird had maneuv (if not speed), bomb prox and 350 more health than terrier - this means as a terrier i keep a safe distance and fire my bombs so they (being faster) hit the warbird while i dodge their bomb...unfortunately with the new bomb speed this advantage is non existant, and means that warbird is impossible to kill in terrier - dont give me any crap on this ive been killing warbirds for years i know how its done...so i can tell u when i cant even beat newbs in warbird....I would advise that if this fast bomb was gonna be allowed the health or gun rate should be brought even lower so terrier (and other ships) could get in close and have a gun fight not bombs...but this is for vile to think about.

 

spider - i like if bursts i think should be more inbetween 2 extremes maybe i dunno

weasel - i like idea of mine...but with current lag problems it is impossible for me as terier to hit a dodging weasel...either sort out lag and try sets again...or change weasel...i like the mine, guns are a bit wrong - more work on these vile and u might have something like a good weasel - i liked old small weasel - so maybe a way of incorporating that idea ??

lancaster - worrying here erm samapico managed to hold a base on his own with bounce, i am always not happy with bounce...becos i feel it lowers the quality of fights massively - i like a good base fight which carries on and is hard skill rich quality fighting - at the moment a single lanc with faster ( i believe yellow bombs with full shrap and bounce annihilates attacks) do something to bounce or lancaster - also lancaster weakness was its guns..the idea that u got up close to it to kill it- this is no longer possible.....or to give chase i suggest reducing to one mine....

Terr needs to lose x.

Weasel needs approx 1500 nrg and needs to be faster, possibly longer rocket.

Levi needs faster bomb speed.

Spider needs about 100-300 more energy.

 

Thats about it. I don't like the greening concept either. If we do something like it we should make it more dynamic. IE some kind of W/L ratio is needed to get veteran abilities. The W/L ratio is an example only. I would rather it be something like # of kills since shipchange etc.

I think this is a good idea with the veteran abilities...you should give wb the x back though...everything else is great....love the ability to upgrade guns with the ball, it makes more people want the ball and improves the soccer aspect of the game.

As far as I know, the closest thing we can get to that is to use a ?buy upgrade system. This would likely alienate any newbies we get, though.

 

There's no way of tying W/L to something like this without the use of a bot (not sure if even that's possible) and thus suffers from being inaccessible and difficult for newcomers.

With the advent of ASSS, its possible to do something similar to that. I however do not think that the better players need better ships, that offsets the balance too much.

 

Back to the initial topic:

I love the ships. You hurt my warbird though, grr. But, since Im not an idiot, Im open to changing the ships, so good. Just, give it the X and the Thor and Ill be happy.
