Sure, they're designed to be pathetic, but with enough skill, a player can be good at them. Then, I came up with a great idea!Reps are useful, but why not make sharks like thus?Instead of being set at L2 guns, L2 Bombs, and a Rep, make it L2 guns, L2 bombs, and a variable slot. It can be a special, like multi or bounce, or an item, like anything outside of burst (because Shark burst is redunkulously powerful). You might also outlaw prox, but it does only last 20 deaths...This way, the shark still sucks, but at least there's some variety, which is one of the great things of this zone, and why 20slots should never exist.

In other news, interesting suggestions, but under those conditions, the shark wouldn't suck...

FunkmastaD Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 STFY Dav LOL ownt On a side note:The shark is free and in my opinion you get what you paid for.Actually you get more than what you paid for...since it's FREE But honestly its not that bad considering that its only 5 bty and it doesnt' cost anything.I think that there should be a Sharking kill equation though to help out the newbies.Say double the single ship equation if you have no ships at all purchased.It would be the zero ship equation.150 x ((killedbty/killerbty)+1) with the max remaining at $10000 for a killThe lowest bty for a Max kill would be killing a 329 bty ship with the 5 bty shark.This would help out those stuck using the shark until they can afford something better.

Sure, it'll take some time to upgrade them, but any player can get the three or so kills you need to get a Warbird to the point of usability. However, I'd have to see how that compares to 1btying with the single ship formula... it'd be easier to kill with the shark, I think.
FunkmastaD Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 My idea was mainly for people who don't really want to buy a wb or jav instead gives them an easier time to make the money to start with a higher priced ship like a terr or a weasel Plus its much easier to kill with a shark than it is with a 1 bty wb or jav even if the money isn't as extraordinary as in a 1 bty Under my zero ship equation with a 5 bty shark the money earned for kills range like this: Killing another 5 bty = $30010 bty = $45020 bty = $75030 bty = $105040 bty = $135050 bty = $1650

It's more fun then one-btying and it gives decent cash...it's job is to allow people to start off and get enjoyment out of the zone as soon as they step in. if a bunch of vets learn to use it highly affectively? great for them. don't -*BAD WORD*- w/ it please...
